I love how motorcycles bring folks together. Forums can, too! Combine Triumphs and The Triumph Forum and the "bringing together" multiplies exponentially. Here's a great example. Marco, Sandi, Mo Last year another forum member, @Marco Wikstrom, and I found ourselves on the same thread discussing routes we love in New Mexico and Arizona. Marco lives in Albuquerque and I live in Tucson. Shortly after that, Marco let me know that he and a good riding buddy of his, Mo, were planning a riding trip to Tucson and said it would be fun to connect. Long story short, Marco and Mo and Steve and myself hit it off over dinner the day they arrived and we spent the next few days riding and dining together. They also met and rode with some of our other riding buddies including Russell and Ek. Recently Marco and Mo came back to Tucson again, and this year they stayed in Russell's rental. At this point, we're planning like this will be an annual deal! They have kindly offered to return the "hosting" the next time we ride to New Mexico. Riding in northern New Mexico, as some of you here know, has definitely turned into an annual thing for Steve, Russell, and me. Due to my schedule, I was only able to ride with Marco and Mo one day but did get to share three lovely dinners with them. I led them on one of my favorite rides and one I've posted about before--Gates Pass, Saguaro National Park, and Picture Rocks. We made a stop at the visitor center and took a few photos. Photo by Marco Marco and I have ownership and love of Speed Triples in common. On this day, though, I was on my Street Glide. That's Mo on his new KTM that he'd just ridden home from a dealership in Texas. Marco took this photo. And Marco and Mo with me behind the camera (well, phone). I just love how motorcycles bring people together. Some of my dearest friends are in my life because we connected around bikes. And I'm grateful that through this forum, Steve and I made two new, wonderful friends in Marco and Mo. We'll see you and Mo in Tucson next fall, Marco! Or perhaps even sooner in New Mexico.
I love this, @Sandi T. One day, if we come anywhere near your part of the world, I'd love to see your blue skies (what is that?? ) and cactus "forests" and meet in "real life".
That would be so much fun, @Mrs Visor! We'd love to meet you and Helmut and ride with you under our blue Arizona skies and our amazing Sonoran Desert "cactus forests".
Sandi T / Steve / Ellie. Count me in with that sentiment. Would love to meet and say HI. And when someone here gets into gear and books Orlando i may be a big step forward to that.
Joe, we'd love to have you here with us and to meet up and spend time in person! Get that Orlando trip booked, my friend. However, it is a long haul between Arizona and Florida. But it's certainly closer than the UK is to Arizona!
