I'd never heard of them until I saw it mentioned on the forum....heyho you live and learn..the replacement chain and sprockets are due in from triumph tue/Wed this week. Absolutely love my bike but reluctant to keep it if cannot solve the problem. but now I'm hopeful with Ian having the same problem.
Still waiting for a reply but not hopeful......stock chain and sprockets should arrive either today or tomorrow so by the weekend I'll know one way or the other if its fixed it, I'll certainly put it on the forum. When I remove Kwakies chain I'll take an image then try for return....
I have now fitted the chain and sprockets from triumph at a cost of £170....it has stopped the whining noise and I'm a happy chappie....So I've got jt sprockets and a (DID VX3 GOLD CHAIN ???) which are of no use. The triumph chain is RK O Ring and the sprockets have no manufacturers name but I'm really happy......
Great news and glad it worked with original parts. Just a query, does the jt front sprocket have a rubber type strip by the teeth, if not that may have been the issue as it is there to stop noise I believe. Whatever, enjoy the ride.
Yes the jt sprocket had the rubber strip.....been out on it this morning.....fabulous.....so happy it's sorted.....thanks all for your input...I thought it best to replace the jt sprockets as well as the chain to eliminate the problem. ☹️
Interesting. I have fitted a JT rubber front sprocket and now 2 new rear sprockets with a new RK Gold Xring chain. Still some noise although only on acceleration. At cruising speeds, not a problem. So, the OEM Triumph chain is an O ring… Wonder if all the noise issues I have suffered with are purely due to using an X Ring chain...
The noise I was experiencing was quite severe....but yes the oem chain is o ring but as the bike is as it was when I bought it I'm a very happy rider. The new oem chain and sprockets came as a kit in a triumph box with a new tab washer. £170 rk chain and unmarked sprockets? If I ever come to replace ever again I'll use manufacturers parts......once bitten.....take care
Thanks Stuart. Think I’ll live with what I’ve got as it is not too bd, and replace the chain when it’s due with an OEM one. Appreciate your help...
