No Spark When Handlebar Moves

When I turn my handlebars to the right I lose spark and engine dies.
1977 t140v

 

Sounds like a wire break. You may have to remove the sleeve from the loom to track it down.
You should feel it as a limp spot on one of the wires.
Just take your time and examine the individual wires, you should find it

 

Could be something to do with the wiring to the ignition switch? With the engine running try tugging on the wiring to the ignition switch without moving the bars to see if this also kills it.

that’s what I think but I think it’s where the it goes into the frame.

Yes I had a similar problem that turned out to be an ignition switch wire that had broke right on the switch itself.

I had to take it to someone to fix. They found the faulty wire and rewired it. Expensive but we’re on the road again

@Eric27 Glad you got it sorted mate. Yes they do get a bit expensive when things go wrong. But it is worth it for the smile it puts on your face. Do enjoy and get as many miles as you can.
