Does anyone know how to access inside the headlight to glue my triumph badge back into place ? seems to have vibrated off during a ride , a common issue I've heard Not sure if removing the bulb will give me the access I need, picture is included for reference The badge is now fallen to the bottom of my headlight (inside it)
There is a bulb shield inside the headlight to which the badge was attached. If the bulb shield is removable when you take the bulb out then you should be able to fix it. Otherwise I don't think it can be fixed?
You should be able to get the badge and its holder out of the headlight without too much trouble; its held in place by two screws but you have to take the bulb out first. If you go to the Triumph instructions website Triumph Instructions.com and look up part number A9838244 (Headlight Grille fitting instructions), you'll see in the opening sections that Triumph expect the badge (Triumph call it a 'bulb cap') to be removed while the grille is fitted to the bike. No explanation as to why and IMHO it seems strange since the centre part of the grille is shaped "frame" the badge! The drawing in the instructions would suggest that once the headlight is disconnected from the bike and the bulb and bulb cap are removed there will be more than enough room to shake the badge out. As a side note I've not seen anyone run the grille without the badge for obvious reasons (it looks good). Hope this helps
I think the bulb shield needs to be removed if the grille is fitted as the grille will do the job of the shield and if both are fitted it will reduce the effectiveness of the headlamp. Makes sense to remove the badge from the shield and refit it to the grille.
