Restoring a 400rr , got the worse I could find to see if I could bring it back, it's coming along, here's the link as there is a lot of pictures
Yeh, just starting this week to put all the new bearings in the wheels , swingarm ,shock linkage, and headstock, hope fully have a running frame by end of the week
The guy i got it off threw a tarp over it and left it in his garden for 7 years thats what became of it, hopefully I'll give it it's heart beat back
Must admit I do like the older Honda's, and the 750s especially , but i can pick up a 400 engine , a 750 needs help
Bloody hell a P100? That things extinct! Not seen one in years then Friday morning I saw one on the way to work. I had one with a xr4x4 running gear shoehorned into it. That was a fun mobile!
Yes have been watching that, I know Henry Cole is not everyone's cup of tea but I like his approach, I will usually watch anything to do with bikes, should be starting with the bearings today , they are all in the freezer ready to go
I've just checked out the photos - it does look to be a similar task to the one Henry Cole is undertaking! (Not sure Henry will actually do much of the work though)
looks like youv'e got a lot of work ahead of you Spanner,Is that the one they call the "Baby Blade"?, i wish i was able to do a project like that, good luck
Iv'e been watching that too Ade..Don't think Henry will be doing any of the restoration ! i've seen most of his "Greatest motorcyle roads" tv series..what a great job he has! He could easily pass for Charley Boormans long lost twin brother
Yes the Original Baby Blade, until the NC29 came along, in 1990, the project really isnt that hard , it's the stripping and the cleaning thats the worse
i guess if you have the workshop manual it should be fairly straight forward,i'm a bit cack handed so i woudn't try
Henry does look like Charley though!.Did Charley and Ewan not ask Triumph to supply the bikes for there tv trips and Triumph didn't think it would be popular so didn't supply the bikes..reminds me of the guy who turned down the Beatles..mind you i think he ended up signing the Stones
