Early start to the day to ride to Morrinsville for the NV Motorcycles Dice Run to raise funds for St John’s Ambulance . It rained leaving Auckland and was foggy and frosty on arrival The sun came up, clearing the fog and warming everyone up
After warming my hands in the sink, we enrolled and ordered coffee to warm up. More bikes continued to come in until right up to the ride brief (total 130 entries) with a huge range of ages and brands.
The ride was marked at corners to help get to the dice roll locations in Mercer and Whatawhata, before returning to Morrinsville. supercharged Rocket in the workshop
Prizegiving was in a private room at the Top Pub, where refreshments were enjoyed before heading home in the dark. Great day, with over $2000 raised, but the body was ready for rest and food when I got home and my bike was filthy
@Dartplayer: This time it was a hard job for you and your comrades. But you succeeded again and supported the organisation!
@Dartplayer, what fun!!!! I'm envious of the vibrant and active biker community you have. Thanks for sharing another one of your adventures!
Good cause, great roads - I drove down that road a few years ago, avoiding the main road, to return a rented bike to a dealer in Hamilton. (I'm fairly sure it was that road - I just blindly followed my son-in-law!) Also (kind of) down that way..... I had a go on the Hampton Downs go-karts earlier this year with my grand-children - what a great track.... and those two kids were fast!!
Thanks @ajc400, yes great riding area. Li had the luxury if doing a bmw driver training on the main track at Hampton Downs and a Track day for bikes on the test track. I have seen the carts and they are quick
