Got to agree about the street triple, I’ve not ridden the speed triple but going on what I’ve been told the speed triple has a very firm suspension, I have the 2023 765 r street triple, it’s a lot of fun and does everything you want it todo and more. I would rather buy a new Rs/R street triple with warranty etc than a 4 year old speed triple, definitely test both and see if the speed triple gives you much more ??
Ive owned 3 street triples to one speed triple which kind of says it all. My last 4 bikes have been either a street triple or a superduke
oil filter not air filter!!! Also, I realise English isn’t your first language and in which case “I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole” means “don’t buy it - walk away!!!’
I like my Street Triple RS. It doesn't have the out and out performance of my Aprilia Tuono V4, but it is fun to ride, a bit like a mini version of the Tuono in a way. The Speed triple has more power than the Street 3 obviously, but I don't think you'd go far wrong with a Street triple rather than a Speed triple. Its your call, I'd ride both if I could and decide after that.
I saw it, They were very rigid on the test drive and were not sharing the information on the owner. I told them if they can do it for 7000$ i would buy it and just walked out of store. I am now looking at available options on 2024 street tripple rs.
Sorry, my bad, yes oil filter. Also, yeah i kind of googled what barge pole is and deciphered what you meant to say. I let that one go. They were very rigid on testdrive and were not sharing information on the original owner, from whom they bought this. After a conversation that seemed like going round and round, I told them I have 7k ready if you decide to sell this and just walked away. Now I am looking at 765RS 2024 because new speed triple is out of my budget.
I forgot to mention, the sales person didnt know if it had a quick sifter or not. It doesnt says it has on the papers. I told them if they can let me ride it, I will know if it has one or not. But its vain now. I believe if something is meant for me it will find its way to me.
that is ridiculous - if they don’t know then I wouldn’t buy a motorcycle from them for sure!!!!!!! See the following photos. One is a photo of the shift arm connecting rod on my bike without a quick shifter. The other photo shows the connecting arm used with the quick shifter. A quick glance will tell you if the bike has a quick shifter or not

Hi, @pinkstripedzebra. Just saw and read through this thread. I have a 2019 Speed Triple RS. I bought it new five years ago this month and love it. That said, I've not ridden a Street Triple and know many who have one and love their bikes. I have had zero issues with my key fob--thankfully. I change out the fob battery once a year to the tune of about five bucks--well worth it for peace of mind. I have no issues with my quick shifter which I use regularly from gears 2nd through 6th both up and down but shift from neutral to 1st and (usually) 1st to 2nd manually. But my quick shifter is not the stock one--it's one that Triumph sent out after lots of reports of problems. I'd barely had the bike before it was changed out but didn't have any issues with the stock one in the short time I used it. I didn't test ride a Street Triple when I was deciding about buying a Speed Triple RS but instead compared it to (and test rode) a BMW S1000R. I far preferred the feel, sound, and torquey grunt of the Speed. The BMW was much higher revving and felt rather buzzy to me. I know you aren't looking at a Beemer but thought I'd share that info as one of the things I understand (hopefully correctly) is that the Street has more of that higher revving character. I'd push those dealerships hard for test rides. If they won't allow them it may be due to their insurance or they really aren't all that motivated to sell you a bike...or both. It's also not encouraging that the salesperson didn't know whether the Speed had a quick shifter so it seems you will have to do a lot of the research on your own. But you've come to a great place for info here on the forum as I'm sure you've gathered. There is a lot of great experience among members here--and we always have lots of opinions, too. I don't think you can go wrong either way. Both are great bikes. As much as I love my 2019 Speed, I'd probably look hard at the new Street Triple because, well, it's new and has a factory warranty. That's worth a lot. And even with only 1,300 miles on the Speed, it is a five-year-old bike. Let us know what you decide and please share pics of your new bike when and if you get one!
