Think I am going down same path as much as my Bonnie looks great its had its moments! Looking at a red Honda NC750 on Wednesday Enjoy the new bike
Eddie17 Thanks. Do let us all know how you get on with the Honda test. Perhaps we may have to rename the forum Honda and Triumph forum. Joe.
Well peeps took the Honda out today. Hated every thing about it. Lost the back brake still don't know what went but after a few applications no rear brake. Bike was soft and wallowby every corner. Think someone may have softened the suspension massively. And found it hard to get on and of it. To high. Joe
Can't help you with the rear brake and suspension issues Joe, but to get on and off the GS I always put my left foot on the left hand footrest before getting on or off, like you would if you were getting on and off a horse. Works for me
Littleade. Yes mate that works. got to have it on the centre stand as side stand is a bit wobbly yet to try getting it of the stand but that should be easier i hope. Thanks for your advice. Joe
@joe mc donald Finally starting my adventure write up about Sturgis today, Joe! Hope all is well. I've lots of catching up to do on the forum.
Just lost my 2016 Honda NC700X DCT after being T-boned. Thankfully I hobbled away from it, which is amazing considering the car's passenger side headlight hit my right leg/ankle/foot, with the rest of it's front-end hitting the rear, right-side of the bike. Really enjoyed the bike as a perfect commuter bike, but now I'm thinking of the TS660 after taking one out for a test ride!!
Hi Joe, just caught up with this thread lol. I hope you have sorted the issues you have had with the Honda. Do you still have the trident?
Strewth Joe, I think you must have shot a robin. Work through one thing at a time, sometimes getting after all manner of niggles can be a fruitless exercise. I lost my back brake once, fluid had dropped so far I was pumping air. Filled up, bled, never gave trouble again.....hope you can get on top of it
Wessa. Getting there. Especially now the 660 has been recalled. I just sent it back to the dealer and said keep it till you get time to sort it as they have a long waiting list and the triumph 30 minute job really takes over an hour or two so i am told. The bike had started to stall on take of's and cut out twice so i was not riding it anyway
MightyBoosh Yes i am just taking it easy and i will get it all sorted. Thanks for the tip to slow down
Mine went in today for the recall. Yes it took over an hour, so Triumphs estimate of 30 mins is a little short of the actual time it takes. Bike is running fine, mind it only stalled once for me, so hasn’t been a massive issue for me. Guy at the dealers today with his 660 and he said he had loads of problems. I guess I was lucky.
That is impressive news! Congratulations Joe on your new bike acquisition. The specific brand, whether it be a Honda or a Bonneville, holds no significance as long as it serves its purpose and brings you pleasure. Are there any plans for an upcoming ride in the future?
Well peeps could not get on with the Honda much preferred the older models. But could not find one so back to Bonneville's. Picked up a 2010 model with eight and a half thousand miles on the clock. Not ridden yet as i will wait till the end of the month to tax it.
That’s more like it, Joe. That must be the model that superseded the SE? Many safe and happy miles, mate.
Thanks Peeps. Yes it needs a bit of work. Looking for bits like the rad cover and engine protection if anyone has some lying around. Today i fitted a nearly new set of shocks from a 900 a rentec rack and saddle bag rails. Have had to paint the wells on the wheels as they have rusted. But checking if you can fit the mag wheels to this model Joe
