Hi, new to the forum and new to Thunderbirds. Just bought a 1995 standard. Looking at a few potential upgrades.
    Live near Dunstable in Bedfordshire.
A few must do's to the bike...I want to shorten the rear mudguard and change the rear light. Bar end mirrors. Led indicators. Possibly change silencers.
Can turn my hand to most basic mechanics but will need advice and help with some. Looking forward to enjoying the bike and learning from members.
    Thanks
    Mark

Congratulation on buying the best bike I've ever had.
Had my Thunderbird 900 from new, 28 years now.
    Greetings from Lincolnshire.

Welcome from across the pond. Always liked the T-Bird and the America. I probably would have bought one or the other if they still made them. Ended up with a Speedmaster (Can you tell I'm into the cruiser look?). Good luck with your ride.

Hi Mark, welcome to the club.. I bought my 04 plate Thunderbird 900 in Feb this year. Gorgeous bike, if a little reluctant to start sometimes!

Just the addition of a screen so far. It came with heated grips and bar end indicators though. Any mods I am planning are things like a sissy bar and rear rack, just to increase practicality.

I had one and it sounded fabulous with a less restrictive exhausts. I managed to get a pair of the Triumph slip on ones which look the same - not easy to get hold of but they do come up now and again. One suggestion for you and Phil, they don't seem to like Ethanol in petrol and it might be worth checking/fitting new float jets compatible with E5/10 petrol.

Is it worth adding some additives?
