Yesterday I took another nice weather chance for a ride with my wife and our Tiger/Honda. First we rode to the lake Neusiedl in the province called "Burgenland" and had there a great view to the other side of the lake in Hungary. After a short break we went on to our home province called "Niederösterreich". We stopped at an icecream shop in the town Laxenburg and had some coffee and ice there. Next to the icecream shop is the oldest castle of the Habsburg family, castle Laxenburg, with its great park is situated. The castle with it's oldest parts was owned beginning in 1306 from the Habsburg family. Today some parts of the National Film Archive and some international organisations are situated there. After finishing our short break we were surprised about the crowd of people we were suddenly confronted with. The biggest Mercedes Benz Dealer of east Austria and an oldtimer club had made up an exhibition of every type of Mercedes Benz SL models at the entrance of the park. This was a great surprise for us. I've never seen so many and different SL models ever before on one place! Of course, we looked at all of them. Later we walked through the wonderful park and enjoyed the sights and views there. At the end of our tour we rode back home and we're glad about all those experiences. In the following some impressions. Part 1: Lake Neusiedl at the "Mole West" Castle Laxenburg Our bikes: Tiger 900 and my Honda NT-1100 Mercedes SL 300
What fun and what a wonderful outing, @Markus! Thanks for sharing the photos of the cars with us and the beautiful scenery, too.
Nice photos. I had the SLK with the vario roof, when it first came out. A little rocket ship not suited to UK roads and thier newly acquired speed cameras. lol
Lovely location. I stopped off in Weiden am See on my way back from Slovakia a couple of years ago. A stunning area to visit.
