These are my new riding boots. I wanted something that was comfortable to walk in when off the bike but still has firm support. Waterproof and not all black like the typical American biker boot. I'm a motorcyclist not a biker. I tried on many boots but as soon as I put these on I knew they where the ones. The highlights. Nice and tall all leather boot. A nice lugged sole for walking and traction when moving the bike around. I took the little frilly decorations off, lol. They will get a generous application of mink oil to further waterproof and protect the leather.. These are far nicer than most boots I've had for riding without the biker look. cost was $170 American. Reasonable in my opinion.
Much nicer without the frilly bits, they seemed like an odd addition!! Nice looking boots in a great colour .
Those should be great for your off-bike walking. Great protection up over the ankle, and waterproof to boot! (get it?) I bought summer riding boots (Tour Master Solution 2.0 Air Boots) that have a lot of air flow to keep comfy in the hot summer (in NJ). Acceptable for short walks, but not as capable as yours. Not really waterproof, but I avoid rainy days when I can. I also have waterproof boots when necessary. It's a choice depending on your use, as all boots are a compromise. Good Luck!
I rode with them on Sunday and I really like them, very sure footed when you come to a stop and also when paddling the bike around.
So far so good, lots to be said about real leather. I'm going to mink oil them soon for some extra protection. They have proven to be very comfortable. And I did take the frilly things off, lol.
Well today I gave the boots their first mink oil treatment. Can you see the shifter mark. Only a motorcyclist will appreciate that, lol. I used a brush and really worked it into the seams and threads. One boot applied. It darkened them to a nice dark brown color that I like. I applied the mink oil really heavy. Then used a hair dryer to warm the boots and the mink oil really soaked right in. After the boots cooled a bit I wiped them down with a soft cloth and then brushed them. I really like these boots, they are supportive yet comfortable to walk in.
Your new boots look great, even more so after that mink oil treatment, Greg! I've used that before but had kind of forgotten about it. Will have to get some and treat a few of my boots. I've heard of the Carolina brand but never had them before. Please keep us update as to how you like (or don't) them as you ride and walk in them more.
