Finally managed to tidy up the rear end to my liking. Triumph Side Plate Mount (A9750730) combined with the smallest UK-legal plate I could find (JDM Plates) and a pair of EU Multi function lights (A9700589).
Bit disappointed the side mount wouldn't fit with the left hand pannier so removed the (Motone) rail and re-fitted the swing arm bag...May have to cut that side mount reflector off as I'm not a fan...

It looks very strange with the number not in the middle. That would drive me bonkers. Much prefer it all symmetrical. Plus withit in the middle it reduces the amount of crap thrown on the back of the bike.

And I thought OUR number plates were too big o_O ... Do the riders in the UK have to add horsepower to pull those plates through the wind ?. Just kidding.:p. ...J.D.

That's the absolute smallest legal plate allowed in uk (ok, i guess if you had a smaller private reg it could be made smaller). The standard size i took off was like an air-brake on the side mount.....!

You're aware, I assume, that - for the MOT at least - the reflector should be on the centre line and facing the rear of the motorcycle?

"Motorcycles must have one red reflector aligned to the longitudinal centre line and positioned to reflect squarely to the rear."

If you DO ditch it,keep it safe and stick it back on for MOT time.

This is the US standard motorcycle size in all US states. You cannot make or alter them yourself. They must be issued by the state DMV. We do not have a MOT inspection in my state. Always wanted one of those giant U.K. number plates to go on my garage wall....J.D.

Thanks, yes i have kept all OEM stuff I've upgraded. I've even kept those hideous reflectors that were on each fork leg.

I always keep the stock pieces I take off unless they are broken. You never know. Someday in the future, a younger generation my want to restore this stuff. I pack everything away in boxes on the shelf. ...J.D.
