Commuted on my Blade again, really good to have had a decent amount of time on it over the past few days. Next bike outing will have to be my Street Triple .
Nice to see you're getting on OK with your 'Blade Mrs V but I sort of guessed you would. I've heard them called "bland" and "characterless" which, to me, means they just deliver without any quirks or foibles. Great bikes.

I have heard and read that too and see what people mean - but I have also been told that they are the best option for a first venture into super sports for that exact reason which I think is likely true from my limited experience of just a couple of hundred miles so far. It doesn't have the character of the Street Triple (to me) but it's lovely to own and ride something that I have admired for so long and enjoy it. It's just really different and that's a good thing; nice to have two very different options.
Sounds like you are happy so far with your Blade purchase, @Mrs Visor. And I'm in agreement with you that's it's really nice to be able to have different motorcycle options. I'm grateful for that every time I walk into the garage. Enjoy them both!
Morning. Great news you are getting on well with the new blade. The two different styles of bikes is the key. Enjoy the Blade. I’m sure your clutch hand muscles are toning up..! When you need to rest them at least you can jump on the Triumph..
They are just a bit!!!....I am less lazy about putting it into neutral at every set of lights than on the Street Triple that's for sure and it is definitely harder work in heavy traffic in town. Also getting used to paying far more attention to camber when I stop and shifting off the seat a bit if it's going to be more than a very brief stop.
Here's my trusty old hack I rode to work practically every working day for the last 28yrs of my working life. A GT Avalanche, purchased new on July 8th 1992. Apart from renewing the usual items like tyres, chains, sprockets and brakes etc it's never let me down. I rode it in all weathers, even with deep snow covering the ground (lots of pushing involved) although a black ice get-off in 2004 resulting in a broken hip introduced a new level of caution in my riding. Not rode it much since retiring and it's bit grubby but still a solid performer. The rear carrier is a home made job for carrying the laptop case but just happens to be the right size for a tray of beers!
Finally got some weather to enjoy my other passion. Fished in the local competition and one of my mates secured 3rd in the snapper Sunrise over the heads/bar Cruising to the spot Gurnard and Snapper on one drop Fish on ice Snapper entries 3rd prize Snapper for a crewman
Even though a winter resurgence is looming… @Helmut Visor and I went to the first monthly bike / car meeting of the year at HR4K today - there was a really good turn out considering it was 3c. I took my Blade and Helmut the Nightstorm (which always gets loads of attention whenever we go anywhere). Other Triumphs there were a Rocket 3, Sprint, two Bobbers and a Speed Triple. Hot coffee, made to order small stone baked pizzas and good conversation were all to be had, so all in all a lovely few hours out. It was great to ride out with Helmut again as we hadn’t ridden together for ages .
It's in gorgeous condition for a bike that is 19 years old this year; only 15000 miles on the clock and certainly seems to have been very well looked after by the two previous owners.

I decided to replace my Street RS as a track bike with something more suitable for what I wanted. This was delivered the other day, 10 years old two owners and only 6,000 miles on the clock!
A mate might be breaking his if you're after any spares? Currently it's a complete track bike so let me know if you do?
If it's an L1/L8 model definitely interested in the bits as this is just a road bike, so I'll be needing the track stuff for it.
Despite the hypothermic morning temperatures at -7 to + 1 degrees Celsius, I've been driving my Honda to the office again almost every day for 2 weeks. I leave it only in sleet and then take the car. After the office, the ride home is then wonderful when the temperatures reach 8-12 degrees Celsius. In a few days, according to the forecast, the weather will finally be permanently warmer!
I rode my Street Glide for the first time on Sunday since my carpal tunnel surgery in mid-January. And while I was off that bike I added or changed out a few goodies. I got a new seat from Le Pera which is basically like my old one that is now flat as a pancake after almost 10 years and probably about 50,000 miles. I also put on new Khrome Werks handlebars (powder coated black) and Oberon adjustable clutch and brake levers. I knew I'd love the seat but wasn't sure about the bars and levers. They're perfect. I'm ready for a touring and rally-filled summer!
