The first annual service on my Street Triple is due at the end of May, my two year factory warranty runs out mid October at which time I will be doing my own servicing anyway.

So my question to forum members is what do you do for workshop or service manuals? Haynes don’t list one yet and I would struggle to justify a never ending £6/month for the very occasional access to Triumph’s technical publications.

    Hi Baza,
You only need to subscribe for 1 month, print off everything you think you might need and then cancel the subscription. I know they try to stop you printing but I did find a way last time I used it. Haynes aren't doing anymore paper manuals but they are going to add bikes to the on-line service.

Many thanks for that information. Much appreciated. I will give it a go. I’ve already had a look at the technical documents and saw that there were a number of technical bulletins available as well.

Here is a link below to a free factory manual for the STRS 765, also consider buying the DealerTool at £60, it will allow you to complete all the service functions as a main dealer does, and clear any stored fault codes, also reset the service icon. Ride safe all from an ageing Rocker.

Many thanks Iceman. From what I understand Dealer Tool is not available on Apple kit but I do have access to a commercial OBD2 scanner/reader (Snap-On Solus Pro), but have yet to plug it into the bike to try it out.

I have just tried the hyperlink and get an invalid address message. I’m wondering if this might be Norton being over protective.

Hi, yes it is the Norton that prevents it opening, I had the same issue but worked around it. Below is a snapshot of the manual.

Service Manual - Street Triple RS
    Introduction
    Introduction
This manual is designed primarily for use by trained technicians in a properly equipped workshop. However, it contains enough detail and basic information to make it useful to the owner who desires to perform his own basic maintenance and repair work. The work can only be carried out if the owner has the necessary hand and special service tools to complete the job.

A basic knowledge of mechanics, including the proper use of tools and workshop procedures is necessary in order to carry out maintenance and repair work satisfactorily. Whenever the owner has insufficient experience or doubts regarding his ability to do the work, an authorised Triumph dealer must undertake all adjustments, maintenance, and repair work.

In order to perform the work efficiently and to avoid costly mistakes, read the text and thoroughly familiarise yourself with procedures before starting work.

All work should be performed with great care and in a clean working area with adequate lighting.

Always use the correct special service tools or equipment specified. Under no circumstances use makeshift tools or equipment since the use of substitutes may adversely affect safe operation.

Where accurate measurements are required, they can only be made using calibrated, precision instruments.

For the duration of the warranty period, an authorised Triumph dealer must perform all repairs and scheduled maintenance.

To maximise the life of your motorcycle:

    • Accurately follow the maintenance requirements of the periodic maintenance chart in the Service Manual.

    • Do not allow problems to develop. Investigate unusual noises and changes in the riding characteristics of the motorcycle. Rectify all problems as soon as possible (immediately if safety related).

    • Use only genuine Triumph parts as listed in the electronic parts catalogue (EPC).

    • Follow the procedures in this manual carefully and completely. Do not take short cuts.

    • Keep complete records of all maintenance and repairs with dates and any new parts installed.

    • Use only approved lubricants, as specified in the Owner's Handbook, in the maintenance of the motorcycle.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

You are right, it is Norton. Just tried turning the safe web addin off on my iPhone and the text showed. Will attack it on my iMac tomorrow to see if I can get it into a pdf document and let you know. Whilst my machine is not a RS it’s only the TFT dash and suspension units that really differ mefinks.

Something strange going on here. Exactly the same response from the same forum member has been posted on the “Breitling Speed Twin £23k Peterborough” thread.

I’m not sure if it is legit or not. On its own it can be taken as a perfectly innocent response. But an identical response to a totally unrelated thread made me very suspicious. But maybe I’m just a MOG who trust nobody?:joy:

Hi Baza, like you I always trust my instincts and go with that "gut feeling, it always pays to be cautious, from what I can see the is not from a trusted or known forum member, not sure for the motivation though, there are a lot of scammers out there and trolls.

I am totally with you on this.

Just lately I have had a few emails, purportedly from YouTube, notifying me of a reply to a comment I had made on a video. Each reply was an invite to text the said scrote using Telegram as they “had something for me”.

Not all of these responses are to be found if you then revisit the comments on the video. I don’t participate in any of the social media crap but these individuals or bots need to FRO.
