I have a 2021 Tiger 850 Sport. I want to put the lower case guards from the Tiger 900 Adventure on my bike. The dealer doesn't know if this will work. Has anyone out there done this? The mounting points look like it should work, but Triumph moves in mysterious ways sometimes. The part number for the guards is A9700053.
Look at the Tiger 900 Adventure. The tubular steel bars that prevent tip over (or worse) damage to the engine cases.
Hi. I'm very surprised that the dealer can't answer that question. I'd be a bit worried actually; as if your car mechanic referred to, 'the big thing under the hood'. The 850 and 900 bikes have the same frame, with some differences for the Rally versions. Almost all 900 GT & Pro parts fit the 850. Puig, SW Motech, Outback Motorteck, Hepco & Becker. You might want to do some forum searches, here and elsewhere, regarding issues with certain designs of crash bars. RE terminology, case guards is probably accurate, but 'engine bars' or 'crash bars' is likely to get more results. IMHO.
I must admit that my first thought when reading case guards was guards for the side cases or panniers. Certainly nothing to do with crashbars. I do quite like it though.
