O Fitted these adjustable footpegs,much more comfortable, for my 58 year old knees!And a new tail tidy,that gets rid of the rear duck bill!
I had some lower pegs, Vario on my Sprint (sold on) and cheapo chinese on my T509 but found they pushed my feet outwards about 1cm or 2 cm so and I had to ride pigeon toed to change gear or use the back brake. Which was more uncomfortable than the original footrest position for me, shame coz I liked the adjustment range.
Once rode a friends zzr1400 that he'd modified like this. Two memories stuck in my mind; 1/ wow what an engine 2/ My...... hasn't he spoilt the relative control relationship It suited him and may suit you but make sure you adjust the other bits to bring everything back together otherwise any perceived gains will soon be lost. Does this mean that the lowered adjustable footpegs can be put in the way I want? I mean, won't it affect anything else besides comfort?
The gear lever height will/may need adjusting but the leverage at an awkward angle will be less due to trigonometry. Likewise the brake pedal and don't forget to adjust the brake light switch otherwise it may always be on. The arc of movement wants to be a few degrees either side of optimum ideally for the gear lever and maximum leverage on the brakes. The gearlever gap may end up less i.e. closer, than previous which if you have big boots then that could be an issue. It all depends how extreme you wish to go in terms of from standard but anything is possible and without seeing the relationship in practice it is hard to advise but easy to flag up things for you to think about. It definetly didn't suit me and I found I was stabbing and scrapping my toes into the tarmac on nice sweeping bends.
I realized that it was better to adjust to my shoe size, otherwise I would scratch my socks on the turns. Good thing I don't go into corners so sharply
