Has anybody found an alternative oil cooler for the 865 twins? My OEM cooler has sprung a leak and a new one is nearly £500, or £150 for absolute tat on eBay, so I'm casting around for options.

    Suggestions (polite) welcome :)

Have you tried looking at repairing it? How about Exeter radiators on the Marsh Barton? Their website mentions oil cooler repairs and motorcycles.

Must be worth a phone call or visit.

Good shout, that! I agree. I think they used to advertise, locally, repairs to all radiators.

Exeter Radiators replied very quickly but not good news - ali cooler can't be repaired. They offer a rebuild service but it ain't cheap and frankly sounds like overkill for an engine which apparently barely needs a cooler!

So back to my original question - anybody found other options?

Have you pressure tested it to identify the suspect area?
If so pop up a photo.

No, the leak was very obvious.

A photo may lead to people offering options and solutions?

Thanks for the thought, after contacting Exeter Radiators and my local mechanic taking a look I bought a replacement from Motorcycle Recycle. Finally got round to fitting it last week, all good.

I've welded and modified a few aluminium radiators over the years but with a leak it all depends on the location.
Make sure the new one is mounted correctly and not just bolted up subjecting it to tension or vibration.

Thanks for the tip - the replacement cooler is from another later model on which Triumph moved the location of the bosses for some reason so I made adapters which are also rubber mounted so plenty of insulation!
