Sorry to hear that Dave,i remember the lump in my throat and tear in my eye when i had to do the same to my old faithful..but it is the kindest thing
Thanks for your kind thoughts guys about Trésor, but he appears to have rallied a bit. He's just eaten his breakfast and some 'treat' biscuits - maybe the old rogue was just trying to frighten me? He succeeded.
Glad to hear he has come around, I hope it continues that way. I had to have one of the back legs amputated on my 2 yr old border collie last month, that was bad enough, but she recovered very quick. Wishing you guys all the best.
Sad new Large-one. I know only too well how you feel, felt the same when we had to do the same for our old cocker spaniel a few years back. Still probably for the best especially if he was suffering. Chin up, suck it in and toast his passing with a couple of glasses of your favourite libation.
I'm not reet good wi languages all I know yerksher is someweer east of Owdham. Is it that bit of India or Pakistan between Lancashire and Denmark? Can't slag yon Tykes off too much, I have some long lost relatives somewhere up near Howarth, Harle Syke I think, they went there in the 1800's to stop the heathens interbreeding.
I'm the same when my wife mentions the dentist, all of a sudden the toothache has gone! Hope the rally carries on
Spent the middle part of the day moving the kitchen stuff over to the new place - didn't know what I'd find back at home with Trés - but to my surprise and delight the 'sons' came bustling out the front door followed by Trés !!! As I had booked a vets appt. I thought I might as well take him, if only for a check-up. We stopped by a stream on the way so he could "make himself comfortable" and the little bugger was in the stream and barking like a young pup !!!! Wendy whipped her shoes and socks off and joined him in the stream, to encourage him to cool down as it's been over 35° here today The vet said was really saddened by my call this morning because he is such a lovable boy, but to see him flirting with her outrageously was just a delight for all of us there. So Trésor lives to fight another day. Thank you all who commented for your support - it was most gratefully received.
Happy days or what! A bonny looking lad and I'll bet you're well chuffed about that he's staying on for a while longer. Even more reason to enjoy one or three cold ones
It's not us Yorkshire folk fault that our shoelaces need tying up just before getting to the pub door as we'd definitely be first to the bar I'm pleased to hear he's making a recovery. Taking a pet to the vets for the last time is an awful experience. I'll keep my fingers crossed he continues to improve.
