    Thank goodness for my 1971 cb250. An engine, gearbox, clutch and brakes.

    @Aaron Brown
    Although this is probably not a bike I'll ever ride, I really enjoyed reading your initial observations about your new bike, Aaron. I appreciate your attention to detail and your descriptions. Did you also post this in the Tiger Forum on here, too? I'll bet there are a number of folks who would appreciate your excellent report and find the information it contains quite useful.

    Sounds like a good day out, @Mrs Visor! I'm missing the photos you used to post, though. Could you share a few with us here and there? From other posts it sounds like you're quite happy with your new exhaust! And suspension?! :)

    I was very lazy @Sandi T and did not take any - we did actually say after we got home that we should make an effort to stop and "look" more as the scenery we ride through is often spectacular!!

    I am very happy indeed with the exhaust and the same for the suspension, it really has transformed the bike from almost - perfect to completely perfect :).

    Hah! Y'know, I'd actually forgotten that there was a tiger-specific forum. Thanks for the reminder, @Sandi T. I posted it there as well :)

    Tough work day yesterday, so after work I grabbed the Speed Twins keys and went out for an hour.

    Jumped off the bike quickly to take this photo before heading back home before it started to get dark.

    After getting a load of holes and splits welded up on some Triumph 6T mudguards and upper fork covers i cleaned up the welding and dressed all the other dents out, i will finish them off properly when i go to paint shop to prep and paint them.

    I've noticed a faint line appear on the rear tyre of my Street triple RS, just to the left of centre in this photo, I'm assuming its where the compounds change, but perhaps someone here more knowledgeable than me might know? It doesn't affect the handling (at least not yet) and as the tyre (A Bridgestone Battlax BT016 btw) has done nearly 4000 miles I'll be changing it soon anyway 20220924_122611.jpg

    I don't rate the BT016 personally. I had them as original fitment on a Honda CB1000R and spun the rear up a few times, seem to take longer than expected to warm up.
    Changed to my preferred Michelins and never an issue after that.

    It's most likely a mould line from when it was manufactured. Seen them on a few tyres and never been an issue.

    I can't help to answer your question, but this is my Bridgestone BT023 on my front wheel. Looks the same, must admit I saw it but just ignored it.
    Edited to remove a mistake..

    Yep, now we know there's no chance of electrocution changing the tyre. :relieved: Always good to learn new tidbits !
