Looks like you've got all the main cycle parts so you should be able to restore that back to original spec. Ring a ding ding ding ding....

I have my 12,000 km service appointment today with my Honda NT-1100. After 2 intense months of driving, it's already time. The weather is not kind to me! I already had the pleasure to "swim" to the office. Later it goes 2 hours in questionable weather to the service station.

@Pegscraper, re. the photo editing concerns, I take nearly all my photos (to date) with my iPhone. They sync with my MacBook Air and really never have a sizing issue unless it's a Pan shot. But with those all I have to do it open it from my desktop and do a smaller screenshot. That has worked for me every time. Also, and I suspect this is the major difference as I never post from my iPad and rarely from my phone, from my Photos program, I choose which photos I'm going to post and drag them onto my desktop pretty much all at the same time.. Then I can just order them how I plan to post them. As I post, I drag each photo onto the forum then put that photo in the Trash. It may sound complicated but for me, it's not. Anyway, maybe there's a helpful tip in there for you somewhere. What you described does sound frustrating.

Oh, one more thing. If I'm going to mark something out, like you did on you license plate, I do a screen shot of the photo and use the Markup Tool Bar on the screenshot. I don't edit the original photo.

I also take 99% of my photos with my Iphone(8) Sandi, then airdrop them to my Ipad which I use for most of my browsing and posting these days and only occasional use my desktop Mac. I have an App to resize photos which is quite quick and easy to use but in my haste I just forgot!o_O I'm not sure why altering photos already posted doesn't work but it is frustrating. When I remember to resize the photos, I keep the original and edit the resized copy as you suggest. When posting full sized photos from my Iphone I used to get a "file too large" error which obviously prompted resizing but that seems to have stopped happening.

Thanks, Pegscraper. When I read your post, it made me realize that part of why I drag the photos I intend to post to my desktop from my Photos program is so that I don't "monkey" with my original because it remains as is in my Photos program. I can then do whatever I want to with the one I dragged to my desktop including adding a text box or cropping it with a screenshot or covering over a license plate. Even though some of it sounds a bit like a PITA, I guess I'm just so used to it now that I don't even think about it. I am glad that "file too large" error seems to have stopped annoying you! I wonder what changed? With technology being what it is these days, who the heck knows? Maybe something with an Apple OS update?

The 12,000 km service for my Honda was not even as expensive as I expected. 238 euros/dollar was the price. I find that quite alright. For this, the weather was even worse than I had feared. From the office I drove about 50 km in light rain then a storm came up. After about 100 kilometers on the highway, it then went over a beautiful country road through an actually beautiful landscape. But!!! What I didn't expect was that on September 19, at about 1,000 m above sea level, I would suddenly be driving in snowfall. For this I was not prepared clothing-wise. Uahh!!! It was then really cold. The weather forecast somehow missed this weather. After a few minutes the "fun" was over and I warmed up after arriving at the workshop then with a cup of hot tea. The return trip was also cold, but without further precipitation.

Snow sounds a bit extreme for this time of year @Markus - at least it was slightly better for you on the return trip!! The service cost also sounds pretty reasonable.

@Mrs Visor: You are right. The weather is going crazy. The seasons change by some hours nowadays and not like in the past in days or weeks.:no_mouth:

Fitted new bearings, seals and spacers to the rear wheel on the Berg. I noticed a tiny amount of play in them prior to the MOT a couple of weeks back but certainly not enough to fail. A few rides later and the play at the rim had grown to 2 - 3mm which feels huge. When they start going they can go down quickly. I went with aftermarket last time, around 3 years ago, mainly because OEM were out of stock but they were also much cheaper. The originals lasted 8 years so back to genuine parts again this time. Sprocket side bearing felt fine but the brake side was really rough with just a gnat's play which obviously gets magnified at the wheel rim.
Also re-wrapped the exhaust header with heat shielding. The unusual engine configuration means the front part of the exhaust is quite exposed and makes short work of waterproof trousers.

Slight addenda, (otherwise known as 'The Continuing Story of Bungle-it Bill ') with apologies to the Beatles ! Got some decent weather, new parts have arrived, rev-counter f-i-n-a-l-l-y back from repairs, choke problem fixed, tank cleaned out and ready, new battery on bench .. joy. Leant over the seat to tighten something, and those who know why rocking an HD to check the sidestand is locked in properly is wise, may smile/smirk away if you like ! The new spring worked a treat and it shot up like a mortar shell .... For that 1/4 second when the brain screams " DICKHEAD !!! " almost achieved equilibrium, yes ! .. yes !!..... yeeessss !!!... no. The silver lining of this cockup being the Speed Triples seat isn't really ripped too badly .. if you're standing back a bit and squinting, and I reckon once this continuing crap is explained, Father Chris will hopefully come 'round and de-hex it. Here's some pictures of mummy-bear after she'd asked why I was gimping again. ...:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

One of my headlight bulbs blew on my way up from Plymouth on the last leg of my Spanish trip. Got up this morning and off to the dealers for a replacement. 10 minutes to swap them and the tiger is as good new. It just needs a dam good clean now lol

I picked this up today. Something to tinker with through the winter months, 20221001_134929.jpg although to be honest mechanically it's very good.

Very underrated bikes those and, until the first, slab sided GSXR1100 came along, capable of holding their own against the litre+ bikes of the day. Released, in part, as an answer to Yamaha and Suzuki's 500 strokers and to pay homage to the success of Honda's NS500 with the peerless Freddie Spencer onboard. They never really sold in big numbers compared to more mainstream bikes so that's a good find!:)
