Just looking for some clarification, I've seen a couple videos of guys being able to reset the maintenance reminder in the bike settings, but that said, when I go to that section ( I believe it was under bike settings) I don't see an option to reset it. Am I missing something?

Other options I saw were a couple after market tuning options or taking it to the dealer. All of which I'd like to avoid just to reset a service reminder for a service I've already completed.

    Thanks

    Joel

    **Edit**
Figured I would edit the first post and save some scrolling through the entire thread.

Ended up going the TuneEcu route, after some conversations on here it seemed beneficial to have access to more things than just turning off the maintenance reminder.

As far as what I actually bought it was the following:

Lenovo M8 tablet (because no apple support) - $110
    OBDLinkLX from amazon - $89
TuneEcu license - $25 ( I think?) good for up to 5 vins and I'm fairly sure you can swap them out you just have to delete one (will double check)

Definitely could have been done for less money, that said, I figured it would be less problematic to go with a new low end tablet compared to getting a used android phone off ebay or something and the OBDlink seemed to be one of the more proven bluetooth readers compared to the other $15 ones.

In any case, everything worked out well. Maintenance light is off and now I can rummage around in my ecu without Triumph judging me.

You have to reset the service distance and/or time in the bike setup menu then the service indicator should go out (Owners Handbook page 41).

Exactly as @TRIPLE X has said, if it's not due AND you have disconnected the battery, then adjusting the clock will set it back to the NORMAL date it was due. If you had the light on as due, it'd still be due.
    It will not re-set it.
TUNEECU can be used to do it (just done it myself) and probably other s/w.
You need a Bluetooth dongle and $10 ish for the s/w.

Will double check the manual when I get home. I found the section under bike setup where it showed the service due, didn’t see a reset option though

Found the page in the owners manual (43 for me). Went bike set up > service > then it shows me the upcoming service and the yearly service that I haven’t cleared yet. But that’s it. There’s no reset option under those two listed services. Anyone else seen this?

As DtT said. If the service is already due, you cannot reset it through the dash. You can only change the due date if it hasn't reached it yet.

Ahh ok that’s the part I was missing. So at this point I’m either having to take it to the dealer or go the tuneecu route

Obviously it will do the job but $139?????? For just the service reset once every year...
Bluetooth mx dongle and tuneecu, Dealertool (thanks @Linx )or tuneboy are WAY better.
Error codes, adjustments, map uploads and of course, service resets....
    $30.
    It's your $$$$$ of course.

I have Dealertool and it does not turn the service indicator off on my 1050 Speed Triple RS. Best to check if later versions do.

Not sure I follow your numbers here @Ducatitotriumph for someone just starting out.
I've just purchased this route (UK) so know my costs are up to date, the costs were about £110 all in ($127).
Presumably the $30 you quote is the Tunecu software but then there is the Bluetooth unit costing around £85, or whatever that is in dollars, so we don't end up much short of the $139 mentioned.

I can't speak about healtech but the Tuneecu does all that I need. I bought it to balance the throttle bodies on my 2018 765rs and turn off the fault codes which I'd inadvertently created checking the mileage with the tank/airbox off. It does this with ease ;)

Might have gone off a little half cocked and didn't look at pricing yet. It would seem even if I still have to pick up an android tablet / phone to work with tuneecu (from what I've read it won't work with apple) it would still probably come in cheaper than the $139 for the healtech

I had this same dilemma when I bought my 2019 Speedy RS.
I bought Dealertool in 2020 and used it to bleed the brakes and also to reset the service reminder - it is very easy to use.
I have Tune ECU on my laptop for the 2008 1050 Tiger but don’t use it on the Speedy.
As others have said, it’s not possible to reset the service reminder through the bike’s setup menu, only the due date which is of limited use really.
I like Dealertool, cheap as chips and easy to use.
Not sure which version I have but bought in 2020 and never updated as yet.

So generally I work in a mac ecosystem, but was debating picking up a cheap Lenovo android tablet to run tuneECU, unless I misread the above though, there seems to be some debate as if tuneECU will clear the service light. Can someone clarify if it will clear the light before I pick up a random android tablet?

Yes, it will clear the service reset.
I bought an old android phone and it works fine. Just make sure that the tablet has Bluetooth!
