    Hi all,

I’ve come to the glum conclusion that the Daytona 900 riding position isn’t for me so was wondering if anyone had some first hand experience of how the Trophy 900 position compared??

I love the bike and def want to replace it with something so just figuring out options!

    Cheers,

    Matt

I've owned a trophy 900 '92, daytona 900 '95ish and a 2002 trophy 1200. Trouble is the first 2 was a long time ago, the trophy was easier on the limbs, especially when I swapped the bars out for higher trident bars, but I remember just how good the handling of the daytona was compared to the trophy. If you are thinking about the later trophy, the seating position is way more relaxed.
Have you tried http://cycle-ergo.com/ it models the ergonomics for different sized bodies/bikes. It has the early trophy, the daytona 900/1200 and the later 1200 trophy.

and in the middle you may consider a Sprint ST 1050 or GT 1050. Something between a sport tourer and a GT

Keep riding the Thruxton and keep the Daytona for short fun blasts. Simple ;)

Shame. Hope you can replace with something less challenging for your body.

I had a 1996 Trophy 900 and still have my 1998 Daytona T595. For me these bikes in their standard set ups are worlds apart! The Trophy is a far more relaxed riding position and the Daytona was hard work for anything more than an hour until I transformed the bike with a top yoke conversion. Now I can ride the Daytona for hours with no discomfort. :)

I swapped from an Aprilia Falco to a Sprint GT after a myopic old bag wiped out the Aprilia. For me, the Sprint is just the right side of sporty. Fitting a taller screen has made a huge difference to comfort. Truth be told, it is perfect, but going out on it is not an "event" like it used to be on the Falco. However, full integrated luggage, a long tank range and a big seat more than make up for it.
