Started raining the minute I crossed border into Wales, the sun came out as I arrived back in England. Journey out I followed the A5 into Wales. A5 is a beautiful road. Camped North of Holyhead. 2 nights. Cheap site, nice farmer. Toilets but no showers. Great views. In a field but it didn't get muddy despite the rain. https://www.pitchup.com/campsites/Wales/North-Wales/Isle_of_Anglesey/Holyhead/pengraig_campsite/ Bangor was so so. But cross the Menai Suspension Bridge north and stop there for a bite. On return I took the A55 coast road and stopped at the Old Store Motorcycle Café in Wrexham https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...fe-Leeswood_Flintshire_North_Wales_Wales.html and couldn't help but pass through Matlock via Stoke on Trent. Had a steak and kidney pie at Charle's https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...-Matlock_Bath_Matlock_Derbyshire_England.html Another 800 or so miles to the bike.
I was at the track in Anglesey Friday. Glorious day. We stayed over in Bangor, as you say it is ok ish. But we did go to an excellent Indian for dinner.
Same happened to me years ago on a weeks holiday with the kids Sunny in England rained all week in Wales sunny when we got back home, still enjoyed it though. Going to North Wales in the beginning of September, starting from North Notts so I'll call in at the Old Store Motorcycle cafe either on the way there or back and I might try the Ponderosa cafe on the Horse shoe pass . My old bones won't take a camping trip so I'm taking the easy way with B&B at Betws-y-Coed. Great looking bike.
