I REALLY like that RE 650 - both models - but wish they'd do a dual front disc version. It's a symmetry/aesthetics thing.

I don't like the look of the silencers they are just too big and splay out too much at the back, but that was then before I rode one. Now I just don't care.... The riding experience was just so nice. I had a suzuki 250 X7 in the 70's where I put on ace bars and this just reminded me of that view when riding, basically I forgot and couldn't care what it looked like when I wasn't riding. Is that wrong, am I loosing it?

IIRC I told you about it when we were over there in '19. I think it has been converted into a house now.

Absolutely gorgeous day today 29c:sun: , the wife asked me if we could go a run on the bike, daft question!
:joy: (i put on the panniers as i knew it would be too hot to walk about with all our bike gear on) We decided to head up the Cairngorms to Muir Of Dinnet nature reserve which is well worth a visit, I'd saw a program on tv and they were at the reserve and visited a place called The Vat Muir, you walk about 5mins from the visitor centre the arrow is where you go through
    002.jpg

and you end up in here! not much water as it's been a dry couple of weeks
    003.jpg

    001.jpg

We walked a few trails then headed back to the bike, one of the views enroute with Loch Kinord in the background

From there we stopped of at Portarch where the river Dee was full of sunbathers
    006.jpg

Next stop was at the Cairn o Mount
    009.jpg

We then stopped off at the Clatterin Brig restaurant for lunch, really good it was too :yum

Then home to sit in the sun for a while :sun::)

Wasn't sure where to put this :joy:, me and a friend were on a 10 mile hike up Bridge Of Tilt today, half way through our walk we encountered a naked couple! then we noticed 3 guys with video cameras beside them, they then turned the cameras on us:eek: we both thought something dodgy is happening, my mate says to one of the cameramen Are you making a porno?
No No he replied we are making a tv show for channel 4 would you like to be shown on film can you sign a form saying you agree? we both said no it's ok we don't want to be filmed, while we were walking away my mate turns around and snaps a photo of the "scenery", one of the camera men came up to us and asked if we could delete the photo, my mate explained that he was just taking a photo of the scenery as he always takes lots when we are out walking, the guy then said that there is a guy further up that has a consent form for us to sign if we want to be included in the show, we declined again, we weren't buying his explanation about a tv show. but right enough further up the road there was a young lad with a clip board wanting us to sign it? we asked him what the name of the show was, he told us it was called "Naked and alone and racing to get home" so we googled it and right enough it is program getting made for tv!
photo of the Scenery my mate took

I rode El Gordo (my Fat Boy) over Gates Pass this morning to meet up with my friend, Leila, for breakfast at Coyote Pause. We'd planned to eat then do a ride together through Saguaro National Park West (a staple route of ours) but got so immersed in conversation that after breakfast we just wound up going our separate ways and riding home as the temp at that point was about 95ºF.

I finally got two of the last three parts that have been on backorder since January, the mirrors and floorboards. They are part of Harley's "Empire Collection" of parts. For my Fat Boy that collection offered mirrors, floorboards, grips, shifter peg, and brake pedal. My floorboards actually arrived from the initial order but a parts person tracked down the mirrors at another dealership that was willing to part with and send them to Tucson. So those were installed about a week ago and I'm really happy with them both aesthetically and functionally. The only thing left from my parts order from back in early January is the H-D cruise control module which was referred to by the same parts person as a "unicorn" :( since no one can get it right now. Evidently it's a problem with getting some electronics-related item used to make the modules. So hundreds if not thousands of backorders are out there presently. Oh well, it'll come at some point and although I use my cruise control on my Street Glide Special quite a lot and even the one on my Speed Triple to give my right arm and shoulder a break, it's not a necessity. But it does make me realize and appreciate how nice it is to have cruise on a bike!

Breakfast at Coyote Pause--Southwest Scramble, a biscuit with honey, and fruit. And coffee.
