I have both and enjoy both for the reasons you point out on the one hand but a quickshifter is nice on the other hand "when you're on it" Felt like I should have put "Officer" in that last sentence
Enjoy. I've owned a 2018 RS from new and have had no issues with the QS. Only issue I have had is a duff battery letting me down when on holiday. It has 9600 miles on it. I've used it for everything from Sunday ride outs with friends to touring with a Ventura luggage system, up to 350 miles in one day. What I do like about the QS is how fast you can change down the gears and the bike reacts less when changing up with the bike lent over.... T
Guys just got back from doing NC500 on my RS absolutely loved the bike the only thing was that I've now got to replace the tyres, totally ruined them, don't ever do NC500 on Corsa tyres......lol Do have a question though the water resinous tank has a plastic cover showing coolant levels this is really loose and was wondering how you remove the firtree bolt I think that's what it is called and replace with another type of fitting, any ideas guys
If you cannot prise it out without damaging the plastic coolant tank, another option would be to carefully drill the head off the plastic fastener. Start with a small diameter pilot drill then increase the drill bit size in stages until the head comes off. Drill penetration only needs to be a few mm, little more than the thickness of the plastic fastener head. I think the cover is also attached with a double sided self adhesive pad which in your case looks like it has come unstuck.
Cheers I'll try still king a bit of double sided padded tape, if that work brill but if not I'll drill it as advised cheers
It does just pull off/out. I changed mine for a carbon one and I too was stumped for a bit. It's a bit of a pull but you can re-use the same plastic "screw" as its only push fit. As above, there is a little sticky pad too that you can replace if required (I didn't bother)
https://www.rsrmoto.com/triumph-spe...-header-tank-cover-2016-twill-gloss-rsr-moto/ Looks like they are out of stock but worth an email to see? https://www.motocomposites.com/prod...lass-for-triumph-speed-triple-1050r-2011.html This is in usa but available. Postage will be high though?
You can also try FBR carbon. I have a number of pieces from them on my Speed RS, including heal guards, hugger mudguard, rear light surround chain guard and shark fin. All good quality and I plan to get some more over the winter T
