So I gave a Ducati shop my bike to drain and fill the coolant on my Daytona 1200...got it back, puking coolant. They claim it's the head gasket. I never over heated this bike. Ran great before I gave it to them, and I suspect they didn't burp the coolant system, trapping air bubbles, leading to head gasket failure. I'm at a loss. Could this be something else? I know a head gasket is going to be $$$, and I'm about ready to Craigslist my bike at a substantial loss to just be done with this crap. I'm so furious right now.
Did they just overfill?? Do you see any bubbles in the header tank ? Take fairing panel off to access the radiator cap ? Do you see coolant/bubbles , do some research..... ??
Does the fan come on, maybe blown fuse??Possibly overfilled , the tank below seat is an overflow. My t509(different bike I know) burps coolant out when that tank is about half full,if I leave it at that it's fine. Trapped air Try new cap Unless you've done many miles or raced it I doubt it is the head gasket, unless it was already suspect before. Does the heat on temp gauge go through the roof?
Triumph's don't like to be filled to the maximum level. They always seem to puke coolant when filled to the max but should be ok once the level stabilises as long as it remains above the lower fill level.
Not just Triumphs but most bikes have a naturally " happy" level and once you know it then it's never an issue.
