Had an interesting time out on the track this time. While making improvements on my times, now just 0.8s off my best time on my 1000cc bikes, I kept coming up agaisnt more powerful bikes but slower in the corners. Makes for some fun over takes. Note: This is the A group / Fast group... Enjoy
I'm not sure where the name came from to be honest. It is not mentioned in any of the history write ups about the circuit.
@Dark Rider That's a great video! I put it on full screen mode and held the computer up to my face....felt nauseous a few times and found myself leaning over. Absolutely thrilling riding. I am new to Triumph motorcycles and am surprised to see the Street Triple can go....is that MPH???....over 200? If so, I had no idea it was possible. Really cool video. Thanks for sharing it.
I want to get on a street triple. Coincidentally - yesterday I looked for motorcycle friendly race tracks near me. I found only one in upstate New York. They charge $99 membership plus $220 per day. Is that reasonable? I think so maybe. Anyway, I'd love to see what my 2022 T120 can do without pissing off everyone in my town.
I must say these Pirelli Rosso Corsa 2 are lasting pretty long with the amount of abuse I subject them to. Currently have about 7000kms on this set with multiple track days and weekend riding etc. I don't do much commuting at all so 7000kms of track and canyon carving is quite impressive! They are probably close to 80% complete now. Will post a pic after next weekends track day. They are getting close to the markers now.. Thinking of trying the Rosso Corsa 4 next, or the M9RR.
coming from a South African point of view that's quite expensive, but locally for you I'm sure that's about normal? I actually gave a cost break down for my local track day on Reddit but ill paste it here to give you an idea of what a day out costs me. Here in Cape Town prices are as follows: Entry fee: $44 Full tank of fuel: $21 Food and drink: $7 or so. Total: $72 4 X 20min sessions. Tyres and brake pads etc I don't really include since they are road tyres that last multiple track days etc.
@Dark Rider Thanks for that information, I was really curious. It sounds like a whole lot of money to me especially being that I don't want to race seriously I just want to see how fast this T120 can go in a safe environment. For the most part I want to cruise casually and this machine is the perfect ride for that. So I'll probably never do it at that price so I was wondering if everyone is paying fees like that. If I could get on a track for under $100, like you, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Be well! thanks for replying to my question.
