Wow, what a shame, @Dawsy. Hopefully you can get those parts repaired lickety-split. I hope your mate's bike wasn't too bad and that he didn't injure himself. But what a bummer on your bike.

@RevPaul great photos and write up, so far the two rides I have had in thick fog have been the least enjoyable I have had - I felt very vulnerable so adding diesel to the mix would certainly make me concentrate!!! I hope you have a great day tomorrow at DGR (but you better not have jinxed the weather for all of us planning on being out on our bikes ). Looking forward to seeing your dapper outfit!

 

My little brother got his license beginning of the week, so I went with him on his test drive for his first motorcycle. After that I gave the bike a good clean, ready for DGR tomorrow!

 

I clicked on the "like" response emoji, @Dawsy, but only because the guy is basically ok and NOT because I like that your bike fell on him vs. the asphalt or concrete. Although I guess that is a bit of a silver lining for your bike. But I am sorry to learn that your bike landed on him! Glad nothing got broken at least...except for on your bike.

Took the big Harley screen off. She looks and feels very different.

She's pretty stock but I think she is gorgeous...

Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. I'd definitely have found that foggy ride very challenging and pucker-producing. Not much fog here in Arizona so I've little practice in conditions like that.

I absolutely loved your very last sentence: "I'm glad I got my bike." I think that simple sentence and sentiment sums it up for most of us!

 

That's cool that your little bro just got his license, @TheBeardedPunk! What bike(s) did he test drive? Have a great time at DGR. Please share some photos with us! I'll miss doing it this year but sadly there's no event in Tucson this time around. Hopefully someone will step in and up and will organize and sponsor it next year.

 

Rode my new tiger 900 rally pro home

I think I might very well like how she rides better even than I liked the 1200.
Arrived home just in time to miss the hail-bearing thunderstorm, which is always a bonus.

 

That's not filthy, filthy is when you got riding in the Peak District in January.

A trip to Wales for @Helmut Visor and I today - he rode his Nightstorm. First stop was Bronllys where we had two coffees at the Honey Cafe to wait out the rain that hadn't been forecast (but it IS Wales so.....). We were planning on going to Crossgates but the weather looked stinking on the high ground so we went through Abergavenny and onto Baffle Haus at Pontypool instead. It was PACKED with bikes being directed to spots to park. There were lots and lots of two strokes there that I think must have been on an organised meet and which sounded amazing when they were all kicked into life together and went shooting off down the road and then lots of people who had been on DGR. @Helmut Visor got to park in the main part, where there were lots of Triumphs and classic bikes; the Striple got directed to the front part near the road where cars park. I cannot believe the best bike in the world didn't make the cut to the main bit . Helmut got a few photos (after the two strokes had departed).

All in all it was a great ride, I am still working at improving each time I ride as you'd expect from someone new to it but I think I am doing OK. I am certainly enjoying it.

Thanks, not standard, it was a Jack Lilley dealer special and they said it is a McClaren car colour. It's a bit deeper and darker than it comes out in the photos.

 

What a good guy he seems to be, @Dawsy. And isn't it amazing that there's nearly always some sort of silver lining to all the negative stuff that happens in life. Or even just when out plans don't go as, well, as we'd planned! Thanks for sharing the Velocette Classics web site. Very cool!

I agree with @Mrs Visor, Tony. Your Thruxton is a great color! I'm a fan of orange motorcycles having had three of them--one of which I still own. What year is your bike? It looks great.
