Featured Touring A Trip To The Vosges

The bikes are all loaded up and ready for departure tomorrow morning. It'll be the first biking trip for the mrs., and as she did not want to do miles and miles of motorway we opted to trailer them. We rented a "gite" for ten days, from where we'll do day trips.

Wow, that looks like a terrific setup! Your bikes can be parked in a garage. Your lodging has a lovely patio and view. And the "dig" got to join you and Mrs. V on your trip. A win-win----win! I'm looking forward to stories and photos about your adventures. And to how Mrs. V. feels about all of it, too.

So....I hate to sound like a geographically challenged American (but I kinda am when it comes to Europe), but where exactly is (are?) the Vosges? Yes, I could just Google it but it'll be more interesting and meaningful to hear it from you.

 

The Vosges are a mountain range in north eastern France, bordering switserland and germany. Very pretty area with great riding roads!

A shortish, leisurely ride this morning so the mrs. can get used to her bike. Low speeds, easy roads. She did very well! It was only 60-ish miles, but that took us about two hours. Little roads, lots of bends. We even climbed a little col (pass). Jefta (the mrs.) found it was very mentally tiring. I commend her though - only about the 8th time on this new to her bike, that's got to be a steep learning curve!

Well done Jefta , she might find when you are on some faster/ wider roads she will not be quite so mentally tired, I bet by the end of the week she will be planning her next trip ! looks like your having fun
