Hi guys. I have the street twin and have some scratches in the pipes. I have heard you can sand the scratches out. Has anyone tried this?

I would expect the exhaust on the modern classics to be chrome so the answer is probably no. Whereas on the triples the “headers” are SS and you probably could.

These really seem to be brushed stainless steel. I'll have to peruse the specs at triumph, maybe I could find the answer there. The reason I think they are steel is because there is no chrome flaking where the scratches are.

Try a magnet on them. Even if they are SS a magnet may still have some attraction.
