More of the wet stuff today so not many pictures! Still cracker roads though and I think we've seen the last of the rain now
That's what our summer motorcycle trip was like last year, too. We got rain--and lots of it--seven out of eight days on the road. One of the things that happens in the desert is that we can go so long without rain that when it does finally rain, the accumulated dirt and oil from the roads seems to all just stick to your bike. Mr. Sandi would try to wipe his bike down each day but I gave that up as a lost cause and just waited until we returned home.
As @Sprinter said, have a safe trip home, all of you. Looking forward to a few last posts about what looks to have been a fun adventure! And it appears it will be another "adventure" in itself to clean that bike, @Wessa.
Yes bike needs a good clean @Sandi T . Didn't get chance today as family stuff got in the way. Tomorrow looks wet, so Tuesday it is
Welcome back home, @Wessa! Glad you had a great trip and arrived home safe and sound. Cleaning can always wait.
We all met up in Callendar on the Sunday afternoon/evening, as i only had 70 miles to get there from my house i decided to take a run to Inversnaid a place i hadn't been to for over 30 years! You drive through Aberfoyle and take the B829 until you come to a junction i turned right first to go to Loch Katrine i then headed to Inversnaid on the banks of Loch Lomond lovely waterfall next to the hotel road to the junction
Beautiful, Dougie! What a great detour. Was Inversnaid much different than you remember it from 30 years ago??
Monday we left Callander and headed north to Dufftown, via Crieff, over the Sma Glen to Aberfeldy then up to Pitlochry and over the moulin moor onto the A93 stopping off at Glenshee ski centre for a bite to eat then headed up past Braemar and onto the A97 up to Huntly then took the road to Dufftown where we stayed the night. i only took the 1 photo that day as it was wet, shame as there were some lovely views on the route comfort stop for @andyc1 after going over the Sma Glen towards Aberfeldy
Tuesday we headed to Fort Augustus via Aviemore, up to Cairngorm ski centre then along the Loch Laggan Rd (A86) and up the A82 to Fort Augustus. @Sprinter met us in the morning and rode up to the Cairngorm ski centre Viewpoint near Tomintoul Parked up at Loch Morlich and went to the café overlooking the loch deserted beach at Loch Morlich from there it was only a few miles up to the Cairngorm ski centre not long after it started to rain, a bit wet at Laggan dam
