Since I was alone this weekend because of a training of my wife, I have used the time and have been two days with my Bonnie on the road.

    Day 1 - Part 1:
Start at home was at 0930 together with a friend and his Yamaha XJR 1300. We drove deliberately away from highways and expressways and have thus enjoyed the landscape. Nature has shown itself from its extreme side. On the one hand, all the conifers were shedding their pollen, which made it seem as if we were driving in fog and the roads were dusty white or light green. On the other hand, all insects have tried to take their lives on us. After a short time, you almost had to have X-ray vision to see through the insect carcasses through your helmet visor. Therefore, it was cleaned at every break.
After our approx. 6-hour tour, I then visited my dear wife in the early evening at her advanced training location, in Stadtschleining. On the way home at nightfall it became really extreme with the insects. Arrived home I was then a considerable time busy to get rid of the bodies of my bike and my equipment.

Looks like you had a wonderful day of riding--and eating--@Markus! Thanks for sharing your adventures and the beautiful scenery photos. Bummer on those gawdawful insects, though.

    Day 2:

The second day I drove alone, because all biker friends either on duty, or because of family reasons had no time.
This time I started at 1000 and had agreed with friends around 1500 clock a coffee break in the Waldviertel.
The weather was wonderful and therefore I used the time again intensively. Our police was particularly active today. Permanent mobile radar controls and even three (!!!!) mobile technology control stations I saw. At one of them I was stopped for a short time, but since my Bonnie is still quite new, I was allowed to continue driving right away. I have therefore not used my "speed junkie mode" today.
Of course the insects were very active again. Full tedious!
After a dignified coffee chat, I then gave my Bonnie the spurs on the way home via expressways and the highway.

    Conclusion of the 2 days:
    Driving distance: 934 km / 580 mi
    Fuel consumption: 4.0-4.3 l/100 km
It was wonderful!!! I love my Bonnie!

You should try WA ! The Bug's are much worse ! Especially if the Canola(rape!) Is in flower !
Bee's are also a problem , I have ridden through two full swarms when it's the season !!
A typical ride when the mayflies are out , 30 km and wash visor , removal is Necessary !! As they are too numerous to just wipe off ... !

Hey @Markus ! Nice photos and looks like a beautiful ride. I especially loved the picture of your helmet. Every single time I ride my bike I hit some type of beetle that hits my head with the force of a bullet. The sound is very startling. I can't imagine how/why people drive without helmets. Don't the bugs have to picked out of their teeth and eye balls? Not mention being thrown off the bike when one of those "bullets" hits you at 100kph. Good grief. I can't imagine why...
    Keep riding. Be happy.

    @ChessNibbler:
I don't understand those riders too. My visor has got 2-3 smacks through little stones. I won't image what would have happened to my eyes without it!
