Hi, just had 765RS serviced other week and when out on a long ride noticed oil weaping out the oil cap.
Tried tightening it but didn’t make any difference.
Can’t see anything at all wrong with the O ring, just wondered if anyone else had same issue.

can’t get to a shop over the weekend for a replacement. But because I can see anything wrong with the current I was wondering if it was maybe to do with how tight it should be ?

    thanks

Is it leaking much? Could be slightly over filled. Or maybe residual oil on the cap itself. I would check the level properly and if it’s bang on take it for a longish ride to get it burnt off. If it’s slightly overfilled a rubber tubing and syringe will get rid of the excess.

Not enough to thinking about topping it up, an hours ride and maybe a wipe with a tissue
Oil level seems ok, I’ve had it out a couple of hours and didn’t change.

if I could of seen something on the o ring it would of made sense

Could be trapped grit. I would remove the o-ring to clean it then put it back the other way up. Also clean around the seating surfaces with a cotton bud. And don't overtighten it. If that does not work replace the o-ring.

Is the o-ring a loose fit on the cap? When I bought my 1050 RS the o-ring was a sloppy fit on the oil filler cap and tended to distort if overtightened. I replaced it with a tighter fitting one.

the o ring is a tight fit on the cap

the counter bore it sits in is a lot larger as I actually thought it should of been bigger
