Don't see much on the new 660 here - I just ordered one for September (the only one they are getting in all year in the graphite colour I wanted). They are selling like hot cakes!

Took one for a test ride last week in torrential downpours and was suitably impressed, enough to chop in my Street Scrambler a year early from PCP to buy (proper, like) the new baby Tiger.

I've also seen quite a few vids of these being ridden off road and doing it very well, too. That was my main concern - I got the Scrambler so I could do a bit of green laning and try some of the rough tracks around here (S Lincs) and was therefore initially reluctant, but after the huge grins the Trident courtesy bike gave me and then the extra comfort given by the Tiger Sport over the Trident, it was an easy decision in the end. The price is nice, too!

Congrats on getting one of those in-demand Tiger 660's on order, @JD_Lincs! Hopefully it'll arrive on time--or perhaps even early. Let the anticipation begin! :grinning: And...it says a lot if you love a bike in torrential downpours! Think how much you'll like it on a nice, sunny day.:sun:

Good luck with the new bike. Nothing better than riding a new bike home :).

I have one as a curtesy bike when my tiger 1050 goes in for its service. Should be interesting to compare the two :)

I rode the trident 660. Its a bit weak to be honest but it does get fun when you push it. You really have to ring its neck though then the tc becomes very intrusive in the corners

Yes at 80hp it is circa 50hp down on the 1050, so I’m not expecting too much from the 660. We will see :)

I got an 850 in similar circumstances, kind of missed out on the whole purchasing experience because it went like "we have one coming in 3 months, if you want it then put a deposit down"! I tested a 900GT to get an idea, but even that took ages to find a demonstrator.

It was whilst waiting that I saw the 660 and it did give me pause for thought, the 850 is great, but I like the even firing order of the 660.

It will be interesting to hear your feedback.

I like almost everything about the Tiger 660, but being used to Litre bikes I think I’d quickly get bored of 80hp!

I soooo wish Triumph would make a Tiger 1200 based on the Speed Triple architecture rather than an adventure bike - that’s the one I’m really waiting for. I’d be straight down to my local dealer with debit card in hand.

I've got a Yam 700 Tracer that I use for touring and if I got rid of it I would be taking a look at the 660 Tiger for sure. When I test rode the Tracer, I'd rode in on my 1250 Bandit which pulled like a train. I set off on the 700 Tracer thinking "this is going to be as feeble as fcuk". What a surprise I had. Less power, less torque but much less Kg. It zipped along and I took it up the biggest and steepest hill in the area and it pulled really well. I was sold. It's toured France, Spain, Scotland, Wales, England and the Isle of Man with much more powerful bikes and I've never felt the need for any more cc's. It's basic but does the job well. No bells and whistles. As a pre-reg I paid £6195 for it in July 2019, it was registered in Feb 2019. I think it's been excellent value and it's a joy to ride.
It did cost me a couple of hundred quid to put Give rails and panniers on.

I was going to ride my new bije home today but I got covid and had to stay home. My son picked it up and delivered it to me. I think he might be in the market for a Triumph now.

I'm used to litre bikes, too, and it was q uestion whether I would like anything this "small". But when my Fazer Thou (last in a long line of litre bikes I owned) was in for servicing they gave me a Tracer 700 for 2 days and it was really fun to ride - it's what made my mind up to get a more modern bike.
On that occasion I went for the Street Scrambler cos I'd always fancied one, but though it is a laugh on curvy back/farm roads, it's not up to much for going longer distances and it's pretty feeble for a 900 - when I go on group rides with the local TOMCC branch guys I have to really wring its neck to keep up, and I'm always knackered afterwards.

Last year they gave me a Trident 660 when my Scrambler was in for service and I absolutely loved it - was so much fun, I wanted to keep it as a second bike, but Mrs got a bit shirty, so binned that idea. When I heard the Tiger 660 was coming I knew it would be interesting - and now I'm getting one, even though I actually enjoyed the Trident more. The Tiger is the sensible choice of the two, for me.

I do occasionally miss my big bikes when I see others at bike meets, but when I get on a decent smaller bike I forget that stuff.
