    I went to get some cheese
    A great excuse to ride 100 miles round trip, the road climbs the sierra and has some interesting twisty sections before arriving at a little old town called "Atemajac"
    A little hotel makes the most fantastic cheese, it is awesome to make quesadillas.
    1 kg bar costs $5 dollars and everyone at home loves it, I try to hide it in a rear corner of the fridge so that it lasts a little longer, if my son finds it ... it does not last long
    A few images from the town and the store.

    !00 miles for cheese. Proof that bikers will use any excuse to get out on the road. :blush:

    Did you want me to add either the town or the hotel to the map, @Armando Morales?

    @Armando Morales

    I love these photos you posted, Armando. :heart_eyes: That looks like a very quaint and interesting little town. And the cheese sounds divine. I laughed so hard when I read about how you try to hid it when you get home. :joy: What sort of cheese is it? I love quesadillas. We can easily get wonderful fresh tortillas here in Tucson but finding just the right cheese--or right type of cheese--take a bit more doing.

    I'm curious about where Atemajac is and will have to try to find it on a map. Or I suppose I can just Google it. ;):joy: And going for cheese sounds like a terrific excuse to ride a hundred miles! :blush:

    I did try to locate it but there were several hits and I wasn't sure which one it was.

    :) sorry for the delay replying,
    here is the hotel that sells the cheese
    Hotel and restaurant "La Milpa"
    https://goo.gl/maps/JWKDaQTAz9QDomqJ8
    Type of cheese? I think it is "panela"
    Many of the towns on the sierra have the same style, keeping with the old traditional Mexican town feeling, and irregular cobblestone streets that make it a lot of fun while slowly riding stuck behind an old pick truck in absolutely no rush to get anywhere
    @Octoberon @Sandi T
    and the route from my home to Atemajac

    Thanks, Armando. That's another country we've put on the map, so to speak. :)

    It's great to get Mexico on the forum map, @Armando Morales! I'm looking forward to learning about the places you contribute. I will be heading to Mexico with Mr. Sandi on Saturday to scuba dive for a week. We will be on the island of Cozumel. :sun: Although I won't be riding there, I may contribute a place or two as we have some favorite restaurants and hangouts. And I'm always amazed to see how many motorcycles there are on the island! One time when we were there, there was an honest-to-goodness motorcycle rally on the main road along the waterfront, Avenue Melgar. :) We usually see some motorcycles--and TONS of scooters--but it was a surprise to see the rally. We figured most folks had put their bikes on the ferry that comes across the channel between Cozumel and Playa del Carmen.

    Tried 2 new places today.
    The Artyard cafe at Enstone, good breakfast, a bit pricey but well cooked and the sausages were very good
    https://artyardcafe.co.uk/

    They even have a spot for motorcycle parking

    Next it was up to Gilkes Garage, very popular spot. nice cakes

    The riding skills assessment part of Bike Safe yesterday was on beautiful roads through some stunning scenery in the Cotswolds; we stopped here https://kotiautotalli.com in Chipping Campden for a quick break. I have heard that the coffee is amazing, but I was so hot and thirsty I had a cold drink instead. It was PACKED yesterday as you would expect, there was a fairly big Triumph Owners MCC group ride out (I think, from the T Shirts and bikes ridden) and bikes of many other makes and models there. It's hard to know what the atmosphere and welcome would be like on a normal day but it's easy to access with loads of parking and it's certainly at the heart of some great riding territory!

    Can you please add this one to the list:
    The Roastery
    Dunsbridge Turnpike
    Shepreth,
    SG8 6R
    A real little gem. They bake their own bread and grind their own coffee.

    Wow, this place looks absolutely awesome, @Oldskool! I love the ambiance and decor and I'll bet the bread and coffee are delicious from the looks of the place. I'd love to go there but the trip is a wee bit long. :sob:

    Add it to your European tour list Sandi. It’s very good food and the coffee is outstanding.

    Will do, @Oldskool! Mr. Sandi and I have been talking about visit to the UK next summer. We’re itching to travel there ever since he did his ancestry.com research and DNA test. Turns out he’s primarily English and Scottish! We would spend some time on bikes and some time otherwise. I’ll take a closer look at the map that @ Octoberon has graciously put together and start thinking about routes.

    That’s a great plan Sandi….Could take a while as there’s a few to visit….! You will get loads of help though.
    If you are going to Scotland I reckon May is the best month as the midges aren’t up yet. I’m sure our Dougie D or someone oop North will advise. There’s some amazing roads over here but a bit narrower and bendier than yours…

    Probably my fault. Sometimes I don't have much detail so I use the search and get the wrong place. I've added the right one now.
