We are slowly heading to winter n SA, the morning was bitterly cold at 10 degrees Celsius on the way to the coast, but warmed up nicely once the sun got a bit higher in the sky.

SA winter period is funny that way, the mornings will be painfully cold but then around 10 or 11 its 25 degrees again upload_2022-3-29_7-39-17.gif

Only once we are truly in winter does it stay cold all day.

    Any way!

This video was dedicated to my good friend that passed away recently in accident on the look out corner at the end of the video, we rode this road a lot together and always had fun passing one another through the double lane sections.

    Enjoy :)

'Bitterly cold' at 10C? That's pleasant riding weather where I come from.

Hahah yeah we've been having nice 25-32 degree Celsius days for the last few months with mornings around 17 -19 degrees so 10 was a big shock to the system :yum:laughing:

Just saw now that you have the Superveloce 800?! How is it? I'd really love to test out an MV one day but they have such a horrid reputation here and basically no support so owning one is out the question.

Owning my Aprilias was hard enough!

Awesome road , great views and riding skills.
Temps are similar to my winter , but we're getting closer to the hot season, in the upper 30s, I avoid areas with even warmer temps in the 40s

I quite fancy adding an Aprilia to the stable. Maybe a Tuono. But anyway, the Superveloce is a lovely bike, if a bit stiffly sprung for our UK roads. It's done about 1600 miles and I think the ride has improved as the they've racked up, or maybe I've just got acclimatised after my Multistrada. It's no Panigale but it goes well, though you have to keep the revs up for it to really fly. The only thing I'd change is the exhaust. I like the look of the stock unit but the black aftermarket item sounds, and arguably looks, better. I still haven't seen another one on the road, and it does draw attention whenever I park it up. No serios reliability issues so far except the back brake isn't working properly. I'm fortunate that there's a dealer not too far from where I live.

The Tuono is an excellent bike! I've had 3 of them  2 V4s and the older V2 rotax motor. All amazing bikes, I highly recommend.

That sounds pretty great, seems like the newer models are a lot better than what they once were! Definitely a rare machine. Is the MV motor more like an i4 where you need to keep the revs high for all the fun?

I'll get a test ride on a Tuono one of these days. They look and sound like fun.

Yeah, it is similar to an i4 with the revs. It reminds me more of my old GSXR750 than it does my Street Triple. It's got a totally different feel and sound to the Triumph.

I missed the last part of your post, so sorry for your friend.
Recently a friend had a close call at 170kmh, only got a broken wrist and on the way to full recovery, the bike was written off.
Having biker friends in an accident always feels closer than one would anticipate.
