Why is the chain adjuster so hard to use on my Sprint GT. Is it just me? I'm only using the C spanner from the toolkit, but it's so hard to get it in the narrow slot, and then it gets jammed on the sprocket bolts. Any one got any ideas for making it easier?
What should be a simple job usually isn't. Like you say, not enough clearance to the sprocket bolts. I try to do it when the wheel is off for tyre changes which makes it a little easier for access and the chain doesn't need regular adjustment so this is usually sufficient. I also sourced a longer one piece tool on e-bay which works much better.
yep - think that one piece tool would help. The one in the tool kit means the handle keeps dropping off, making it even more frustrating
I think it's similar to the Sprint ST 1050 rear arm. The adjuster sometime starts to seize. It's good to regularly make it move. Agree with you, the tool kit C spanner works but is not practical. If I find another one I'll just weld a handle to it.
There's a longer spanner on ebay but it also catches on the sprocket bolts, how do I know? It was better for me on my T509 tho.

I bought one of ebay that is way better than the toolkit tool The Triumph set up is definitely not as good as Honda's as I never had any issues with chain adjustment on my VFR The main thing is not to leave it long between adjustments as it can seize due to lack of movement
