Andy, Nice setup ! and even better pictures!
Do you use an ND filter ? or just the small aperture and low ISO ?
Have you ever been caught by a wave ?

I rode past this view multiple times, last weekend I remembered to bring the camera with me, I prefer it to just images taken with the mobile phone.
These blue agaves are used to distill tequila, and the plantation is near the town of Tequila.

What a great photo, Armondo. As a tequila aficionado, I love this photo. I can now better picture where my tequila comes from and will enjoy it even more! :):yum

Yes usually a graduated nd filter for the sky, its usually enough to get the shutter speed to around half a second which is perfect for getting that movment effect in the waves. I do come home with wet feet sometimes :joy: the worst problem is sea spray though if its windy, have to keep a microfibre in my pocket and wipe the lens before taking a shot. Not to mention giving my gear a good clean when I get home!

Do you use a tripod when your shutter speed is that slow, Andy? How do you clean your gear?

Yes, tripod is a must. You can manage to get sharp images with todays stabilisation in cameras and lenses but half a second is pushing it to the limits, especially when your standing on uneven surfaces and getting battered with strong winds and usually out of breath from a bit of a hike.
Just a good wipe down with a good clean microfibre cloth is good enough. I sometimes use Zeiss lens wipes too which are great, they are individually packaged wet tissues which are cheap if you buy a load of them on ebay or amazon.

Was out yesterday again, had my nephew with me who took the picture of me shortly before I got soaked by a big wave coming in :joy:

    Views from the weekend rides
    1. A field with your agaves and the canyon of Rio Santiago in the background, north of Guadalajara, taken with my cheap mobile therefore the crappy quality
    2. Another sierra into the distance, this is to the south of Guadalajara, taken with my Fuji camera

I've been going out long walks with a mate recently, he was ill last year and ended up in hospital, it was a bit of a wake up call for him and he decided to lose weight (he's lost 5 stone so far but still needs to lose a few stone yet) had a 9 mile walk today with him, i took a few photos as it was such a nice day

Good for you for walking with and encouraging your mate, Dougie. And good for him for losing that weight and improving his health--probably both physical AND mental! :grinning: Nice photos, too!

    You've given me an idea......
I've been pondering lately, why do leathers always shrink when left in the cupboard over the winter months??

Well, it seems that neoprene shrinks, too, @Col_C. Mr. Sandi and I just recently went on a scuba diving trip and, interestingly, our wetsuits seemed far tighter than we remembered!
