    Hi Everyone,

Been looking at these forum posts for a long time and I've finally bought a T100 in the last few weeks. I've totally fallen in love, it's so much better than what I rode before that it sometimes feels like a totally different activity.

Anyway, I purchased heated grips from Triumph and went to install last night. In reassembling my right-side switch housing, I seem to have messed something up with my brake light. It is now perpetually on, regardless of any input I give to the rear brake pedal or front lever. I have a piece that I believe is the brake light switch and bracket, which I imagine is somehow involved, but now matter how I screw it on I can't seem to get the light to work properly.

Any advice or guidance as to where I might find some answers would be so welcome. I am a mechanically inept and have no idea what to do after trying to find the answer in existing posts here or on YouTube. Please save me!

    Danny

Did you pull apart the switch block ? , If so something has bridged across terminals.

You may find this hard to believe, but I don't really know what the switch block is. Do you mean the two pieces that make up the part where all the switches are? If so, yes that was part of the instructions.

Regardless, is that something I can fix with the right guidance?

Yup that's the switch block , one either side.
There or just under the base of the brake lever ! It can stick the switch down ...

Wish you well to sort :p
Advice for future is to take some pix on the mobile as you go, it really helps with reassembly.

Sounds a bit daft but I quite often take a time lapse when I'm doing stuff that has a lot of bits, saved my bacon when I was doing fork seals as I had a spare washer from the internals left over but seen it fall out in the time lapse.

Good luck with getting the switch back together, just take your time and think about what the switch is trying to do, you'll soon figure out the puzzle!

Welcome to the family. Yes it should be a simple fix. The front brake switch unit should be removable by just one Philips screw. May be best to remove the lever first and then rebuild it and make sure the switch is pushing and releasing as it should. Bu any good moto electrician should be able to help fairly easily. Lots of luck. When you get sorted do hit the upload a file button bottom right corner and send us all a picture of the bike.
