Today was finally the day! After waiting since August 2021 we could pick up our Bonnies today. The weather was kind to us. Sunshine, moderate wind and temperatures between 1.5 and 7 degrees Celsius. Dealer Supplies: Heated grips on both machines - They were extremely useful today!!! Exchange of the brown seat to a black one on my Bonnie. After the pickup and immediate refueling, we drove about 120 km to my father-in-law's house, where we already moved out our Bonnie accessories last weekend. After about 1.5 hours we were finally done with all the rebuilding work. Conversion measures: Triumph Bonneville T120 of my wife: Engine guards chrome, side stand widening and fly screen. On my Bonneville T120 BLACK: Black engine guard, side stand widening, fly screen and luggage railing. First riding impressions: Incredible how the 1200 engine goes off from the bottom! The sound is also a real highlight! Now the mission is completed! We own now the TIGER-BONNIE-FAMILIY! Below are the first photos. The TIGER 900 of my wife will be back next week. Some service duty at our dealer is in progress.
Fantastic day for both of you. There’s no feeling like collecting a new bike. Hope you enjoy those lovely new Bonnies as much as the Tiger.
With the recent presentation of the tiger 1200 I went a couple of times to the dealership The last time I spent more time climbing on the Bonnevilles and the speed twin than looking at the new tiger 1200 I'm afraid to test ride one ... it will be complicated explaining a second bike
Congratulations Markus, two lovely Bonnies with some well chosen mods. And as I’m sure you’re discovering you can’t beat that Bonnie surge and sound as you accelerate. If only Have fun. Out of interest what do you mean by side-stand widening?
How exciting, Markus! Congratulations to both you and Mrs. Markus. Thanks for sharing the photos with us. As @Glenn2926 said, "there's no feeling like collecting a new bike". Hopefully you'll get some cooperative weather so the two of you can properly break in those new Bonnies.
Side stand widening , I believe they Added a broader foot pad ! To stop it sinking in muddy/sandy ground ?? Another side effect of this bike is a few °degrees° more upright ! Less effort to raise the bike to fully upright when you are seated and ready to go !
@Armando Morales: In my situation it was not so difficult. My wife got in love with the Bonnie in the same moment when I did. Actually, in August 2021, we just took our two TIGERs in for service and then went home with 2 additional Bonnie purchase contracts.
@Bikerman: We will do so. Due to the actual wheater situation here in Austria we can only ride our bikes in the afternoon. Morning temperatures are at -7 degrees celsius.
@Sandi T: Many thanks to you Sandi. Due to the actual wheater situation here in Austria we can only ride our bikes in the afternoon. Morning temperatures are at -7 degrees celsius.
Congratulations and great pics. Can you tell me what engine guards you decided on and where you got them? Thanks
