Well peeps it could only happen to me. Yesterday took my Honda wheels to Woburn Motorcycles nice friendly lot by the way. Got them to fit a new set of Avon tyres. Bingo to day travelled to the H Café Dorchester. Then to Chris's Café had a great meal. Started home down the M40 Just getting of at Beaconsfield junction 2. Bike felt all funny and wobbly. I got on to a road called Dropmore to the and they have gone along the whole road scraping of the top surface. Why do they do this the idiots should be made to ride a bike up and down these roads for a week see how they feel especially wit a wobbly bike. It was so dangerous i had to pull over and you guessed it big split in the rear tyre. It was lashing down and knowing the rescue times i decided to try to go on. I had to go on at about 10 / 15 miles an hour stopping periodically to let the cars go. Bad day indeed should have stayed in bed. Still i got home and all is as well as can be. Joe
Oldschool It scared the pants of me travelling along a totally tramlined side road. As i said i was going slow. But boy was i glad to see my back door. Joe
@joe mc donald I'm glad to know you made it home safe and sound, Joe, even though rattled as we all would be. I'm sure it was very aggravating to have a brand new tire split before you even got the bike home with the new tires. Grrr.....
@Wessa @Sandi T Thankyou. Yes i was happy to see my garage. And not only the fact it was tipping it down i was saturated cold and near to tears. And to top the thing of the people in charge of the roads had decided they were going to scrape the top surface of the road making it lethal with the bike tramlining everywhere. About eight miles of that really tested my spirits. Yes i know i could have pulled over and waited for the AA to pick me up which maybe i should have done rather than wreck the tyre or for @Sandi T tire. But i have waited before and it take forever and in the country side i didn't hold any hope. And now i took the tyre back to the dealer he said it may be a failed tyre and they do get possibly one in every 200 odd tyres but with the tyre damage it may be hard to prove. Still lesson learned and thanks for your support. Joe.
Just completing my Saga that has now ended with great success. I took my wheel back to Woburn Motorcycles to see about a repair. The chaps there said they didn't like the puncture and would pursue a claim for a new tyre which they did. And hey presto picked the wheel up today brand new tyre fitted and no cost at all. Just need to say thanks to Woburn Motorcycles they went far beyond their needs to help a stricken bike. Best was i could have had the wheel back days ago if i had only turned my phone on. But thankyou Woburn and you will get a bit more business from me in future. They were so polite and pleasant to top things of. Joe.
A particularly shit ride home. But all good now. Nothing about scenarios like this in any riders' course I'll bet.
Yes peeps great when something goes in my favour. But i still have to hold my hand up to Woburn green Motorcycles as they i really think put the pressure on the supplier to replace the tyre and fitted and set up for free. With the price of thins like petrol at present i was truly greatfull. Purchased two Gerry cans today and nearly had a heart attack £21 pounds. Joe.
