Do you ever get that 'Ding', 'Lightbulb flash' moment when you realize something significant while thinking about something totally unrelated...???

Doing my morning exercise when I suddenly realized I had made a dumb error on my Café Racer Style bike build....

I thought I had done a great job in repositioning my bike's instruments until that sudden realization that I cannot turn the handlebars without the instruments hitting the fairing...!!!

As they say... "Back to the drawing board".

It is a really dumb ass feeling. Bit like when you go out and think you have lost your wallet. Get home and say to the wife I’ve lost me wallet, gutted. She says it is on the bench. Elated but feel so bloody stupid.

Boys i have done all of those but i am excused as i am a poor case. Went all the way to Glen Coe and found i had left my wallet at home. Poor old Tracy had to keep sending me money via her bank. I am A Plonker.

Bit harsh that, Joe. I'd say Tracy's a real gem for sorting you out and here's you calling her a plonker!

Oh wait ..... misplaced participle? :D

If its any consolation, I once hard- tailed an RD200 accidentally, I bought some used rear crash bars off a mate that were actually for a YR5, was pleased that I managed to get them to fit...sadly to the top and bottom shock mount. Once i also managed to set my bollocks on fire...during a production race.

When sent to get the fish and chips on my old Honda SS50 moped, I decided it would be a great idea to put them in my shiny new top box. I had nothing else in my top box to hold them in place. Got home and of course the shaking had opened the paper wrapper and I had fish and chips rattling around in my new top box.
Of course I realised there may be a problem halfway home but didn’t stop as I wanted them hot. …..Fish and chips with added fibreglass swarf is not recommended .
    Family not impressed.
Never asked Togo and get them again.
Top box smelt like a chippie for the next 6 weeks.

Reminds me of a similar event years ago.
2 mates and I were staying in another mates empty holiday home in the south of France. We had spotted a Chinese takeaway in the next village on our way to the pyrenees for a days riding. We planned to take a meal back to the digs on our return.
The 3 meals arrived in an open cardboard box. No worries I thought, the box should fit wholesalse into my top box. I thought if I was careful on the ride back to the digs it would be okay. WRONG, the only carton that spilled its contents everywhere was a curry. That topbox stank of the stuff for months.
