I didn’t come across another thread like this, so I thought I’d start one up. If one already exists, maybe these can be merged or something ;).

As the title says, show your ink! Showcase your tattoos, I know you have them! If there is a story behind them, please do tell.

Well I’ll kick this of then. No story behind this one, I got it in 2017 or something. Picture was taken on the day when I got home from the tattoo shop, hence the redness.

I have two tattoos, the first of which I got mid-2015 and the 2nd in December 2016. Both photos were taken immediately or shortly after I got the tattoos.

This is a design that the woman who did my tattoo designed after lots of conversation. I had a general idea but couldn't come up with a design. She took the idea and came up with this one-color (so it goes with any outfit ;)) tribal design. There are elements in it that represent my love of motorcycles and bicycles as well as my love of the ocean and diving...and the sun. :sun:

This second one in on the inside of my left forearm so that with a quick glance I have a clear and present visual reminder of my faith, my beliefs, and my priorities. This comes from the Bible in 1Corinthians 13:13.

I was in the same boat. No rush, it'll happen when it happens. It turned out to be finding the right tattoo artist who helped me turn my ideas into an actual design.

I had my first tattoo in 1977, the last tattoo was the ship shown in the top photo done in california in 2016, my old skin just doesn't hold ink like it used to. I've tried to get tattoos done that relate to my travels, the old tribal done in Kings Cross Sydney, sleeves done in Cornwall England and Toronto Canada, where I also had the blue birds on the back of both hands. I have some scroll written text done in Spain where my Dad fought in the Spanish civil War.
I have a backpiece from Jakarta Indonesia and one on the back of my neck I got in Buffalo Wyoming 2017-05-20 23.19.11.jpg 2017-05-20 23.13.46.jpg

Another boat theme; my wife and I sailing toward my heart in a Haven 12 1/2.

Supposed to be unsinkable, and so far that’s true.
