    A very sad loss. [IMG]

The Bat out of Hell album is one of the few LPs that i can remember where i was when i first heard it.
It was 1978 on the Lizard in Cornwall at a bike rally, camping. They had a big marque there and played the whole album, never heard anything like it before. When i got back to Bristol a few days later the first thing i did was to go to Virgin records and buy it. Still got it and it has been played a couple of times in the last few days. Epic. [IMG]

Good music and good times. They're what great memories are made of.

Good on the lads for that tribute (I presume they're all lads...)

I like some of the comments for the video as well:

"Considering the limited time since he passed they haven't had much time rehearse that. That's pretty impressive musicianship, to say the least"

"I truly appreciate how the Queen took the time to commemorate the legend known as Meat Loaf. He will be missed"

"RIP the legend of legends. Even though I am a vegetarian I loved his music, I loved his name and I will miss him dearly."

IIRC Meat Loaf was even more popular and successful in the UK than in the US, at least proportionately so.

Point of order-Great Britain is an island. We live in the United Kingdom :)
As for Mr Loaf, got to go against the grain. I thought his music was hammy melodramatic nonsense, but he had a good voice right enough. :)

I got nothing but respect, but yeah… not my cup of tea. I'll stop short of criticizing his stuff because it brought immense enjoyment to millions and millions of listeners.

Well he came from stage musicals, it’s what he was used to and it worked so well on Steinman’s writing. I disliked BOOH for ages because it was so overplayed (on the radio etc)... but when that settled and I listened to the record again, there’s some superb musicianship and his singing sits perfectly in the mix.
