I'm not sure Eric, i have the BMW connected app on my phone and it records any runs i do along with photos i take, it also has loads of other info about my bike which is useful. if i switch off locations on my phone I'm not sure if the App would work

The phone tracks your location via GPS and reports it all back to Giogke.

The difference is, Google’s business model is based on exploiting its users’ data, Apple’s isn’t. Google is far more invasive, like Facebook.

Regardless of 'Business model' they'll still be tracking you as much as google, they even give Google Apple user search data in return for using the Google search engine.

All my searches are anonymised. When Google starts giving me a cut of the profits, they can use my personal information for commenrcial use.

All the more reason to do a "fair bit" of the Borders this year then, Dougie! :)

It’ll be interesting if it picks a rider up at ‘aircraft’ speeds!

Ooooooooh no no no! Call me a boring old fart but that's definitely not for me I'm afraid. I do carry a mobile phone when I'm driving/riding for emergencies, it'd be daft not to but it's switched off until needed. I can safely say I enjoyed my riding just as much in the pre-mobile, pre-internet days.
