Emerald Isle NC. That is on the east coast of the USA, on the Atlantic ocean. In a trailer built in 1966. (I had some work to do on this!)

I have several times ridden from the bottom of the country to the top, 'motel camping' on the way. Now, I am full up of the camping experience and ride with a destination in mind and motel stops planned.

I do all my own work, just about, cept for stuff like tire mounting on the rim. The only modification on my bike is to swap stock regulator for a Mofset regulator (from Roadstercycle dot com) and move it into the airstream just below the oil cooler.

I'm handy enough with a wrench... ok, a spanner... and I have split the case on bikes, swapped pistons and transmsion output shafts, replaced clutches and cables and all that. I don't know jack about Fuel Injection but I love it, even though I can rebuild a carburetor ok.

I'm here mostly to review what problems people have. Then, like solving a puzzle, try to work it out. If I think people are on the right track I keep quiet. Else, you can see... I can type 40 wpm! hahaha

Welcome, Donnie. There's no shortage of people with problems here. Some are even bike related.

Nothin' special. OR IS IT? Like many on this forum, I have had several (8) bikes since I started riding again about 2008, but THIS is one of the two I kept.
In the pic shown, I was replacing the chain and sprokets and doing oil change and... moving the regulator up front under the oil cooler and alltering the charging circuit to directly go to battery instead of through all the appliances THEN the battery, and using a more modern MOSFET regulator. Otherwise, the thing is bone stock, well, the Air injection to the exhaust is plugged. Otherwise, stock.

I just recently bought online then sold a big ole' Victory. I thought I would like that powerhouse and feel like king of the world. I'm like 6'3 and 240 lbs these days. I hated that thing. Ya sit on it, kind of like on top of it, and IT RIDES ME AROUND.

With the America, I RIDE IT around. It is the perfect size and power for me. It is faster than most cars although I very seldom open it up for a race. It is not a knee dragger, tearing through the esses. I don't know how to slide it through a curve anyway. Great mileage and not counting the designed-in too small of battery in this years model, it is spectacularly reliable.

Caught in downpours riding through mountains or dark roads at night... it never misses a lick. Camping out in some god-forsaken place 20 miles past where Jesus lost his sandals and the bike has been out in the cold rain all night - it fires right up in the morning as if it is in sunny California at 74 degrees.

So, with 37,000 or more miles on it, it is a keeper. I have that and... for getting around the island... a Diamo Torino 150 cc scooter.
