Got the bike in july. Had carbs professionally rebuilt and bike ran like a champ for about 2 months. Last 4 times I rode bike started out like it was starved for fuel. After a few minutes, bike sputtered a bit then ran great for the remainder of the ride. Today bike started out the same way but never improved. Rode for about 15 minutes/maybe 8-10 miles. Ran smooth but no power. Fuel is 93 octane/non-ethanol. Previous owner removed airbox from under the seat and installed the small individual cone air filters on both carbs. Any suggestions before heading to the shop?
    Thanks

Possible that the air pods are blocking the vacuum port at top of the bell mouth , it's narrow opening at top

    fuel filter?
Also, check to see if both exhausts are the same temp?
If one is cooler than the other, it gives you a starting side to go on as that's (the cooler one) with the issue.

Hi Mike, sounds like fuel/air issue, so all good suggestions to check. Couple of pix of the bikes innards would help all to see what you are looking at

Actually I do not see a fuel filter. Hose goes from underside of fuel tank to pet cock and from there to the carbs. Maybe previous owner removed that as well.
