    Hello,

    2011 S3

After figuring out that TuneEcu with cable isn't capable of resetting the service interval to get rid of that stupid wrench icon and it can only be done with Bluetooth OBDII reader, I spent the $5 and waited 7 weeks for an ELM 327 from alibaba.

Plugged it in, all paired and connected as it seemingly should. It shows voltage, it shows throttle activity when running, the code reader works, etc.

Great. Except that when I run the "reset service interval" under adjustments, after I pick the interval length I want until next time (I tried them all from 6k to 10k) and hit "ok", nothing happens, except the connection to to the reader seems to die. I see the green flashing bar blank out, then go red and eventually tuneecu gives me a "connection timed out" type message - and the wrench icon remains.

If I reconnect and try again, same thing. Tried 10 times, no luck.

MY version of tuneecu is seemingly up to date, my license is fine, etc.

What could be the problem? Thank you.

    Sounds like the dongle?
There's certain ones that don't work too well and there's low quality and higher quality ones.
I bought LONELEC obd2 V1.5 dongle and its been perfect.

    Maybe?

I'd kind of assumed that it was all or nothing with those things. Either they work or they don't? The one I bought was recommended in many other posts on here and triumphrat as cheap but functional. It does everything else I tried with it. Seems weird this one function failure is hardware based, but who knows.
