    Hello,

After riding a Vespa through London streets for many years, I passed my motorbike test last week. I had my heart set on a Moto Guzzi V7 Stone for months, but then after taking a few different bikes for a test spin last weekend, nothing made me smile more than the Bonneville Street Twin.

I pick up my all black bike on Saturday and cannot wait. Any advice welcome ;-)

Thanks. Yes I agree. Although the Matt Black colour was my preferred option the 3 month waiting list meant I bought the gloss black

Gloss black may be coated with clear lacquer and will therefore be less susceptible to nasty, swirly scratchyness on cleaning.:)

On the other hand it may not be lacquered and therefore WILL be susceptible to nasty, swirly scatchyness on cleaning as Ade doth suggest.:(

My tank is lacquered and is NOT therefore to susceptible to nasty, swirly scratchyness on cleaning.:) Well ... not of the paint. The lacquer is, however, showing signs of nasty, swirly scratchyness caused by nylon (waterproofs)/denim/leather clad inner thigh interface with itself over an almost 21 year period.:( Some call that 'patina'. I call it another excuse to polish the bloody thing, and get out of the way of SWMBO's list of things for the Stevie to do today.:):)
    Works for me ... occasionally.:)
    Very occasionally!
    Actually, very rarely!:(
    SIGH!!:(:(

Almost forgot ... welcome in Sean!

Welcome Sean, had my Street Twin almost 3 months now, fantastic bike..... love how it looks and especially how it sounds.

Today I bought a private plate for it so it is definitely here to stay. Got some mods planned for it as and when funds allow.

You'll love your new bike i'm sure :)

Hi Sean, I went from a Vespa px150 to riding triumph t100 and I love both to death. I rode the t100 for ages before jumping back on the Vespa this weekend for a rally in Kelso and realised that there's still room for both in my life!! If you haven't already gotten rid of Vespa I would don't, you may regret it!!

Hi and welcome in to the forum. Great choice of bike but agree with crispey - book your 500 mile service early or you could be sat looking at the bike and not being able to ride it!
