Very cool, @stinger! Glad you were able to snap a pic of these two. What are British wild boar like? Are they aggressive? Timid? (These don't look timid I have to say!) Destructive? Do they travel in groups? The javelinas around here are somewhat timid but might attack if startled or protecting their young. I've read that their eyesight isn't that great but their hearing is good. Those that venture into human neighborhoods tend to tip over garbage cans and bins looking for snacks and they are also known for munching on prickly pear cactus pads which folks don't welcome if those cacti are part of their landscape.

They can get a bit aggressive. A bit like a Geordie on a Saturday night bender.

Just been down to Coniston water now that the waters have receded a bit… still pretty high though… we were canoeing along footpaths at times!

I snapped this photo on my iPhone a couple of weeks ago while on the patio of a local restaurant. I had no idea what it was but a woman sitting at another table came over and told us it was a passion flower. It was blooming on a vine that curled its way around the window frame. I though it was cool how the colors in the flower matched the color of the lighting around the perimeter of the window.

Beautiful flower, Passiflora caerulea, Blue Passion flower, I believe.
Good photo there Sandi, thanks for brightening an otherwise dull day.

@Sandi T I notice that a lot of the houses in your photographs are single story. Is that because of the climate (heat rises) and make a second floor get too warm?

Maybe it’s just a cultural thing.

    Just wondering…

    :)

That's a good observation, @Cyborgbot. I do think that's the primary reason that houses here are single story--heat rising. Our house has a small 2nd story loft area and it's on it's own air-conditioning--heating zone for that very reason. And in the summer even if we have the main house zone and the loft zone set to the same temperature, the upstairs is always at least 5-7ºF degrees hotter.

Also I'm guessing (outside of cities) land prices are considerably lower than in the UK, there being a bit more "free" space in the states?

Due to business tasks I am currently hanging around in the city of Salzburg.
In the afternoon I did a walk around.

    Fortress "Hohensalzburg" or "Hohen Feste"

A quick walk in the local forest today. It’s been very nice weather here for the time of year and it seems to allow some things to keep growing..

Wow! I LOVE this picture, @Oldskool. You don't see mushrooms much at all in the desert, especially ones like this.
